Democratic lawmakers want to take the state's tight gun control laws and expand them outside of New Jersey's borders.
There's new legislation that would ban state-sponsored travel to any states that don't require their residents to obtain a permits before they purchase a firearm.
The goal is to send a message to the National Rifle Association, said State Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, the bill's sponsor.
"Fighting the NRA on the basis logic and rational thinking has not worked," Weinberg, D-Bergen, said. "So I think the thing that might work is fighting them with their pocketbook."

....she’s one nasty money spending azzhole who’s time has come... hope it’s between a semi and a train and the only thing left to bury is a tooth
But killing children in the womb is okay, right NJ Democrats?
Didn’t California try this... then backtracked when a collegiate sporting team could not attend an out-of-state bowl game? I think they side-stepped that, but it does show the potential for embarrassment this kind of feel-good legislation creates.
And the rest of the country fondly says to NJ, “Piss off!”
True, and this is probably the first and only thing that I'll ever agree with Loretta Weinberg about.
But IMO it is not very likely that this bill will happen.
NJ State employees and teachers just *love* their trips to Disney World for conferences at the taxpayers' expense. A few phone calls and the bill will disappear down the memory hole.
Jersey is full of people from out of state driving to the Jersey Shore. In other words, out of towners.
Like California with LGBT crap.

‘They’ all like to go after the ‘gun friendly’ states and when one questions or complains about same sex marriage etc, ‘they’ claim Sovereignty.
What about ‘our’ Sovereignty when it comes to following the Constitution.
I have often said maybe the ‘wording’ in 2 is ‘iffy’ for today, it definitely more clearly gives ME the right to bear arms than ALL the others give the ‘right’ to burn my flag or kill a baby in the womb.
“Is everybody in NJ brain-dead”?
Not me.
But on second thought maybe I am. After 77 years here we have had about enough. Maybe we will move the three hundred yards across the Delaware River into Pa. but they seem to be catching up to us in the crazy dept.
I’m good with this.
Every state that still loves freedom should retaliate and ban state-sponsored travel to Commie Pinko NJ.
“Whatta laff”.
Actually I think you would like to have us as your neighbor. Most of us out here in the western & northern part of the state are pretty normal.
New Jersey and San Francisco are convinced that everyone else is fascinated by them.
New War Between the States? Bring it, you arrogant Jersey bastards, come get in our faces.
The leftist areas are the shiathole areas like north Jersey, Trenton, Camden, Asbury Park, Atlantic City, Pleasantville. South Jersey is more like Alabama then New York, my commented that he sees more confederate flags on people’s trucks, houses, trailers then you do down in the southern states. The state is not pure by any means.
Ocean, Monmouth, Atlantic, Cape May counties are the areas you would visit anyways, those are also the more conservative areas and are actually really nice.
The old joke was that NJ placed the refineries, airports, seaports, garbage dumps, power plants, factories, across the Hudson to keep the New Yorkers from migrating here...

Sorry, “courtesy”
BFD! Is New Jersey about the size of one county in Texas?
Whatever it takes to get Leftist New Jerseyites to stop moving here.
I am originally from New Jersey, and now living in Texas. I have absolutely no intention of going back to Bleepin Joisey. Texas is home, I love my freedom in Texas.
Liberals just cannot leave people alone.
So this isnt too smart. How about anybody that believes in the 2A never to or buy anything made in or sold by a Nj company. No tourism either, but who wants to actually go there?
