Why in the world we would be willing to sacrifice even one of our sons or daughters who will be sent over [to Syria]? asked Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin during a Tuesday interview with SiriusXM host Rebecca Mansour for Breitbart News Tonight.
It really makes me nervous that there seems to be some enthusiasm for the U.S. to interject ourselves again in a foreign countrys battles when no one has articulated yet what our interest is there, Palin said. We should have learned our lesson with Iraq and Afghanistan. I look at it as the blood, the sweat, the toil that has been spent on our end when you cant really see what the gain is in a lot of respects. We just cant allow ourselves get back in that mode with Syria.

Asad is awful. Alternatives are worse. That goes triple for the Christians remaining in the area.
That's because they're all rubbing their scummy little porcine hands together hoping Trump will pull the trigger and get bogged down in a quagmire.
Agree.
We don’t have to sacrifice anyone.... just bomb the source of the Chemical Attack or destroy their airfields used to launch the poison gas and go home.
Not One Drop. Nothing in the middle east is worth a single drop of American blood.
A strange game, the only winning move is not to play.
I AGREE with you that America should lead other allies in punishing severely the perpetrators of this attack assuming such an attack did in fact happen. On that point, I’m going to have to trust Trump. And, he’s the only one I trust in DC.
In today’s uber modern ways of warfare, such an attack can be made without sacrificing troops or pilots.
I also agree with Palin that no troops should be sent to Syria unless it is to rescue Americans.
American troops in Syria should be on the way OUT.
America will lead allies to attack those killing their own people with gas. Leadership has been absent for many years.
Not our problem. The country can commit suicide for all I care. If there is no strategic interest there, why should we care? If you want to use this as some kind of proxy to strike Russia or Iran or wherever, then identify specifically what we gain from it.
The burden is on those advocating the spending of American blood to justify it.
Let there be no doubt, the biggest split in politics is foreign policy.
Patriots, Do-gooders, Neocons, Neolibs, Paleolibs, Paleocons and the givva sh!ts.
The fractures transcend party and domestic philosophies.
I see it from a Buchanan POV. I know there are other views.
For instance, I think the do-gooders and the Neocons and Neolibs are very closely aligned. Their Foreign Policy is emotive and moralist.
The Paleocons, Paleolibs and Patriots are realists. They don’t want to fix anything because they know it can’t be fixed. They prefer an approach that centers on domestic concerns, but support overwhelming force when legitimate interests are at stake.
“Im for bombing the hell out of the place and thats it.”
What would be the objective, and why is it in our interest to poke that bear?
“Everyone knows, Syria and Russia did almost nothing to ISIS”
They were busy fighting off the “moderate Jihadis” we sponsored to take them out.
“just bomb the source of the Chemical Attack or destroy their airfields used to launch the poison gas and go home”
What would be the Objective? And, why is it in our interest to poke that bear?
I totally agree with Sarah.
Bring our people home from every one of these far-flung shithole countries. Put them on out borders, where they can actually defend OUR country.
Regime change in Syria has been a priority for both the Clinton Democrats and neoconservative establishment Republicans. Trump's victory was a repudiation of both factions on three core issues: immigration, trade, and foreign policy. It's unfortunate that he's being talked into their point of view on the Syria conflict.
We don't know the government of Syria instigated that gas attack.. and neither does SecDef Mattis. Until it's conclusively determined to be the case, not one missile should be fired downrange.
Sarah’s right, again.
Every Syrian on both sides of this battle have been taught from a very young age to hate Israel and the USA for always being Israel’s partner in war. They will still hate us for backing Israel, no matter what we do for them.
Palin called for an articulation of the American national interest in Syria prior to any military operations within the Levantine state:
So those making this point that we need to insert our power and get in there and get rid of Assad, I’m not comfortable with it and American citizens should not be comfortable with this until there is very focused articulated reasons provided to us and Congress — and Congress need to be a part of this, too, not just the administration — until we find out what the heck we would be doing there. There has to be avoidance of the short-sighted decision-making.
Palin continued,
“Until we are given the reasons why it’s in America’s best interests, why in the world we would be willing to sacrifice even one of our sons or daughters who will be sent over there? It’s like that old saying, the old men call war, and they send the young men to go fight them. No. I see what war does to an individual, to a family. I guess there’s a lot of humanity that I’m considering at this point.”
This post bears repeating as it state my feelings exactly.
Not One Drop. Nothing in the middle east is worth a single drop of American blood.
Ms. Palin you don’t understand. It is in our vital National Interest to help the Suadis satisfy their lust for the rape and murder of every last non-Sunni nutjob in Syria!
