Under fire for the worst privacy debacle in his company’s history, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg batted away often-aggressive questioning Tuesday from lawmakers who accused him of failing to protect the personal information of millions of Americans from Russians intent on upsetting the U.S. election.
During some five hours of Senate questioning, Zuckerberg apologized several times for Facebook failures, disclosed that his company was “working with” special counsel Robert Mueller in the federal probe of Russian election interference and said it was working hard to change its own operations after the harvesting of users’ private data by a data-mining company affiliated with Donald Trump’s campaign.
Seemingly unimpressed, Republican Sen. John Thune of South Dakota said Zuckerberg’s company had a 14-year history of apologizing for “ill-advised decisions” related to user privacy. “How is today’s apology different?” Thune asked.

Facebook says t hey keep your data private and secure. They have over 25,000 employees. That’s a lot of people that potentially can access your most private information. On top of that, Facebook allowed others to mine the info. Does anyone doubt that government agencies have access to it all? Trusting Facebook is like publishing your autobiography including your innermost secrets to the open Internet. Users are fools.
I wish Michael Savage or Rush would help our witless GOPers ask some real questions. These guys are an absolute joke.
And OF COURSE Zuckerberg doesn’t oppose regulation. That is how monopolies retain control of their huge position once they achieve it. Otherwise, better, leaner and more aggressive upstarts will thrive in the open market. The first thing they will do is show that they keep your data safer than Facebook does. Then, they’d go from there.

What is the facebook written criteria for suspending or banning accounts?
What is the process for reviewing and determining which accounts are suspended or banned?
Is there a specific team assigned to the task of review, suspending, and deleting?
Does facebook keep records of who suspended or deleted accounts and the reason for suspending and deleting these accounts?
Would you provide that list to this committee?'
I think Rush made a great point today when he alluded that this is all for show to save face and allow FB to be able to use the platform to help the other side use the magic of the data on their site to help the other side on the next cycle. I may be off on what I thought he was trying to say, so take it with a grain of salt, but I thought that was the point he was trying to make. If so, I think he may be right......
What I would have liked to have seen today is each time a Senator spoke, was a bubble on the screen saying how much Z monster donated to the political campaign.
Senator Umptifratz from BonCher, who has received $2 million from Zuckergeld would like to say....
And then, “Senator Umptifratz from BonCher’s relatives were employed as consultants by Zuckergeld and they received an annual salary of you-cant-imagine-how-much-for-doing-nothing...

The “tough-talking” democrat Senators only had one thing on their minds -— regulations. And we all know where THAT takes us. I loathe Facebook, and Zuckerberg is a little puke who censors conservatives, but the idea is to STOP censorship -— not pass a bill that creates it.
Any time he was asked any questions, the answers to which would incriminate him, his answer was always the same -— “I’ll have to consult my staff and let you know”. For a CEO, he sure doesn’t know much about how his company runs, does he? (The lying sack of excrement).
The Facebook user agreement is 1 1/2 inches thick. I’m sure any permission he would ever need is in there. As Senator John Kennedy (R -Louisiana) told him, “Your user agreement sucks”. Zuckerberg is a total WEASEL.
