Putin’s main reason for being in the Middle East is to grab control of it. His aim is to, more or less, restore the Soviet Union, and then some with positions in the strategic resource-rich ME. Team Trump is fully wise to this.

That may be Putin's aim, but along the way he is protecting Christians.

In contrast the side America has picked so far has ended up with Christians killed or exiled

Assad in power means Christians live on in Syria, anything else means no Christians

Putin supports Assad, hence on this matter in Syria I support Putin.
