It would work - they take the left coast and the northeast, and we give them free travel-through on the interstates in exchange for leasing our military bases back to us on the cheap (they don’t need them anyway).

That exactly the way the United States split.

Let them have all those blue counties.

From New York to Los Angeles and San Francisco, on up to Portland and Chicago to the big cities in Texas and then on to Chicago.

That map shows that when population density increases, intellectual capability and morality decrease. Notice that almost all of the blue areas are those big, overpopulated cities.

I do not know how many Counties there are, but visually, it makes the notion of ‘The United Counties Of America’ look a lot more sensible than what we have now.

One County 1 Congressional Representative, and repeal the 17th.
