In a state consumed by conservation and environmental issues, one highly endangered species has long gone unnoticed and unprotected the California Conservative. Is it still possible to rescue them from the brink of extinction? Can their numbers be revived? And can they thrive here once again? While the nation continues to view California as a homogeneous voting block of individuals in lock step with an increasingly progressive liberal agenda, for Common Sense Californians up and down the left coast state, theres a sense that a different tide is rising. The ripple began in Los Alamitos where the city council voted to opt out of Californias sanctuary law. And it was followed by Orange County who voted to join the U.S. Department of Justice in challenging the states sanctuary city laws. This decision was echoed by the city of Escondido and later this month San Diego County will also vote to join their ranks in this federal lawsuit. Other municipalities are lining up to consider doing the same. California has always been the tip of the spear. Often the genesis of art, influence, ideas, style and entertainment, we also take the lead in ways that are less admirable with high state tax, high gas tax, high costs of living and housing, an out of control homeless problem in our urban areas, declining test scores in schools, increasingly inaccessible and cost-prohibitive health care, and many of our major cities often appear on lists of the least-livable cities in the U.S. A supermajority of Democrats at the state level has presided over a tragic decline in virtually every statistic and has championed expensive and detrimental ideas such as the multi-state tax, a failing high speed rail project and of course the most recent sanctuary state status.

The population in general is 50/50, but the liberal 50% rules the propaganda media AND academia, and they have embeded operatives at the County Recorders offices (thanks to affirmative action)
All you California bashers, keep in mind Jim Rob is in Fresno CA. Ronald Reagan was from there. The liberals are sneaky backstabbing nasty hateful, unforgiving entitlement grubbing cheaters and conservatives play by the rules and are busy working so its assymetrical politics
Typical wishful thinking.
And the fact tens of millions saw the spectacle the Democrat leftist put on all during the Trump election and beyond, with riots, blocking traffic, assaults, vandalism, cops attacked etc...
So no doubt that alone changed a whole lot of minds.
For you,and good luck out there——maybe it will spread to MA.

“The magnitude of the illegal alien problem in California is beyond the comprehension of someone who doesn’t live there.”
worth repeating
Very true, conservatives and the GOP have consistently been improving their positions in states like Minnesota (the only state to vote for Mondale in 1984!) and Connecticut. Hawaii was once widely seen as a GOP stronghold to counter Democrat leaning Alaska.
California wil eventually regain its sanity, we have to keep fighting and challenging every possible seat. Demonstrate how badly socialism and the welfare state are failing the people they are allegedly trying to help.
That’s what has happened in Venezuela, and is still ongoing.
I hope so. California conservatives have been overshadowed and outvoted by illegals and liberals from other states.
I was born and raised in California. It is the most beautiful state in the union, bar none.
At one time it had the best schools, best standard of living and best wages.
It would be wonderful to see it return to some of it’s former glory.
No excuses. My wife is from California and she is so conservative she makes Ted Nugent seem like a Hillary supporter.
[The economy of California right now is absolutely floating on low cost illegal alien labor. And like the South a century and a half ago, they aren’t going to give up their cheap imported labor without a fight. ]
Excellent analysis.
I too think it would be fine to allow California to split and give the lower part to Mexico, along with all the kooks who live there. Losing all those electorial votes would destroy the dems chances in winning national elections for a century.
I remember those days.Very sad today.
He was right and still is even in death.
I am in the belly of beast here in SoCal.
It seems something is going on. Two big conservative “take back California l” rallies this weekend in Huntington Beach and San Diego drew very sizable crowds. We got enough signitures to put the repeal of Jerry Browns gas tax increase on the June ballot. On Facebook, the two conservative candidates for governor, John Cox and Travis Allen have a combined 1 million likes and have nothing but positive coments in their posts. “Frontrunner” Gavin Newsome has 600K likes, but is innondates with negative comments on his posts. I noticed the same trend with and Hillarys FB pages in 2016.
People here in SoCal seem fed up with the illegal aliens, the rampant homelessness, the out of control taxes. More and more CA cities are rusing up and defying the states “sanctuary state” policies. I think Orange, Ruverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, San Diego and parts of Los Angeles county are going to backlash against the Democrats. Xavier Becarra (the racist Latino state Attorney General) has a 34% approval rating. So something is happening.
The $64,000 question is this. Are there enough of us overcome the 6 SF Bay Area counties that typically vote 80% Democrat as well as the large number of illegal aliens that get to vote?
Regardless of our beautiful states image here on FR, there are still good, decent hard working Americans here in California. Please pray for us, that we can start gaining traction to get our state back.
Yes, very sad. The California of my youth was the very best place in the world to live.
May it some day return.
From what I saw of the NY invasion in the 70's, not hard to believe they would stay in control anyway, especially now that they have a generation of idiots trained by the publik skools to vote democrat for life.
You most definitely have my prayers.
And we all saw how the "authorities" let it all happen.
So no doubt that alone changed a whole lot of minds.
Dream on.
