Johns Hopkins studies effects of DMT, including encounters with autonomous beings
WASHINGTON Its one of the most popular new hallucinogenic drugs being smoked by young people around the world, with many users reporting spiritual encounters with entities that sound a lot like demons.
And now, Johns Hopkins University is studying the alarming effects of DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine, asking volunteers who have taken the drug about encounters they may have had with seemingly autonomous beings or entities.
One researcher characterized DMT as a spirit molecule.
So bizarre are the effects that users have described crossing into another world and seeing machine elves, aliens or cartoon cats. One woman reported being swarmed by apparently alive Slinky toys.
The research team is headed by Roland Griffiths, a behavioral biologist with a history of studying psychedelic substances that produce mystical-type and near-death experiences.

Dumb article, and this is not a new drug.
End Times Ping.
Let me know if you want on/off.
Galatians 5:19-21 specifically talks about “witchcraft” which in KJV is pulled from the Greek “Pharmakeia”.
Galatians 5:19-21: Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

From what I’ve heard, drug use is an open invitation to demonic presence, like putting out the welcome mat.
I have a friend who used to be heavy into drugs as a youth, before he got saved and God delivered him from it. He told me about some encounters he had with the demonic through it.
Some of my dreams and nightmares are so weird that they don’t sound too far off what’s being described here.
“Mechanical Elves”
Great name for a band.
The supposed entities are derivatives of what the mind has already experienced. Slinky, machines, cartoon cats, aliens, all stuff of our time.
DMT is hardly new. Nearly every living thing produces it naturally. I have wanted to get my hands on this stuff for an adventure in the desert for literally decades. There is actually a documentary of this on netflix that I think was filmed in the 80s. Even the old timmothy leary types described LSD as a long strange journey and DMT as being shot out of a cannon
I wanta new drug
The human mind is capable of inventing all kinds of fictions, even without the help of drugs, while some drugs are better than others at stimulating the imagination and convincing the person it is not just all in their imagination.
Well, if they took more of these drugs, maybe they can find a demon imitating him.
DMT ain’t new. Back in the 60s it was called “bussiness man’s acid” because the high only lasted about an hour.
LOL I dreamt I was going through something that look like the barren areas of Detroit.
DMT was around in the 70’s and the word was that it would give you a 3 day long nightmare.
Better living through chemistry?
LOL
I’m a big believer in acetylsalicylic acid!!
I keep it handy!
Netflix had a documentary on this years ago

“DMT was first synthesized in 1931 by Richard Manske in the great wave of chemical experimentation that followed the discovery of mescaline at the end of the nineteenth century. At this time neither its effect on the human consciousness nor its prescence in traditional South American indigenous admixtures were known, and so DMT was forgotten until some fifteen years later when the snuffs and potions of the South American shamans became of great curiosity to the then burgeoning field of ‘psychopharmacology’. O. Goncalves first isolated DMT from Mimosa Hostilis (= M. teniflora) in 1946 (publishing his results in Spanish), and further investigations into the plants used by South American shamans resulted in DMT being later isolated from both Piptadenia macrocarpa (= Anadenanthera colubrine var Cebil) and P. Peregrina (= A. peregrina) in 1955.
Despite its presence in the South American snuffs and ayahuasca, the psychoactive effects of DMT were not discovered until first reported by Stephen Szára in 1956. A Hungarian chemist and psychiatrist operating behind the Iron Curtain, Szára could not obtain LSD or mescaline from Sandoz so he synthesized his own DMT.Szára would later escape Hungary (with his stash of DMT) and then later immigrated to the United States where he worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, for over thirty years. He served as the Director of Preclinical Research at the National Institute on Drug Abuse for many years until his retirement in 1991.
After its introduction to the burgeoning psychedelic underground through the writings of William S. Burroughs, Timothy Leary, and Ralph Metzner, it was made illegal in 1966. In 1968, Holmstedt, Lindgren, and Agurell first hypothesized that the effects of ayahuasca are caused by a combination of naturally occurring monoamine oxidase inhibitors and DMT.
In 1970, Congress passed the Scheduling Laws (CSA) that made it nearly impossible to do any research on LSD, mescaline, or DMT. This halted scientific investigation into the compound in the United States until Rick Strassmans FDA-approved clinical trials at the University of New Mexico (1990-1995).
In 1972 it was found in the human brain tissue. (Julius Axelrod), and then subsequently found in human urine and the cerebrospinal fluid bathing the brain. Once the pathways by which the human body made DMT were discovered, DMT had become the first endogenous human psychedelic. 5-MeO-DMT was then subsequently found in the cerebrospinal fluid by S.T. Christian in 1975.”
Really old drug.
