Trump is threatening to repeat Obama’s mistakes in Syria (Obama Mistakes Ignored By The Compost)

During the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump excoriated President Barack Obama for “the way he got out of Iraq,” which Trump said “was the founding of” the Islamic State. As president, Trump reiterated during a meeting with Iraq’s prime minister that “we should never ever have left. A vacuum was created.”

Trump was right. Obama’s withdrawal did create a vacuum the Islamic State quickly filled. So why is Trump now threatening to repeat Obama’s mistakes by withdrawing U.S. forces from Syria?

....Trump corrected this catastrophic mistake when he took the gloves off our military and drove the Islamic State from its physical caliphate. He deserves credit for this achievement.

The compost didn't want to waste as much paper as it would take to list 0bama's "mistakes" and to explain them to his simpleton worshipers.

Syria is not a vacuum. The Syrian govt is ready, willing & able to assert its full authority in the 28% of Syria that we are currently occupying illegally.

There won’t be a vacuum in Syria if we withdraw. The Syrian government and their Russian and Iranian friends would swoop in to fill it very quickly.

Saw reports that Trump is willing to pull US out of Syria as quid pro quo for Iran & Hezbollah also leaving. Supposedly being negotiated through Oman.

That would be a good deal. I doubt the NeoCons will accept anything short of US occupation, however.

Sorry Washington Post but President Trump has almost completely wiped out ISIS unlike Obama who armed them.

Why is the Washington Post so eager to start World War III?

Syria did nothing to us and do not pose an immenant National threat to the USA.

Who reads this Bull $hit?

My only concern is the apparent delay in withdrawing from Syria now. I dont understand any further delay. We had a minor but important role in wiping out ISIS in Syria. We did it while illegally occupying a sovereign country without their permission in gross violation of international law but we did it. Time to leave. But the NEO CONS want us to spend our lives and print more money ( economically decimating our future generations) for what end? We are not going to die or pay for a war for the Kurds , the Israelis or the Saudis or anyone else. Let me assure you beyond any doubt that the Saudi Sunnis spawned, funded and sustained the Wahhabi Isis butchers just like they did at on 9/11 here in the United States. let them pay— let them fight Iran, Syria and Russia. Reject the NeoCon military profiteers. We are broke— we are losing our jobs and our sovereignty and our nation. Let us pray the Trump sticks to what he said and tells these colonialists to go to hell.

You are correct on all your points, but America has the opportunity to be dead right.

Obama never made mistakes. A liberal does no such thing. There are only sacrifices, unfortunate events and consequences.

Obama’s mistakes? You mean arming jihadist elements of the “Syrian opposition”, ignoring those same kind of elements in the “Free Syrian Army”, pretending we could train & equip Syrian Sunnis ourselves - in league with and using “friends” like Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to do the “vetting”, field dropping arms to the Syrian “opposition” without any oversight or controls of out own on the ground?

But Trump, with respect to where we are working, with the Kurds, we have done none of those things. Our work with the Kurds has been working because we are on the ground as special forces working with them and controlling how our support is used. Trump seems to be ignoring the difference. Merely being there is NOT the same thing. The conditions and the context has changed, and made us effective where we are there, without our limited “boots on the ground” manning the front lines on the ground or “leading” the ground action. We are doing none of Obama’s failed approaches nor failing to take approaches he did not, approaches that have been working. Trump needs an education on the differences of our work in Syria today versus how things operated under Obama.

Hate to break the bad news to you, but Syria is already in Syria, and so is Russia and Iran. And unless the Neocons have a plan for driving them out, I don’t they’ll be leaving very soon.

I get tired of the chest thumping by the US about defeating ISIS. Anyone who has followed events in Syria knows that the defeat of ISIS and the so called US supported “moderate” headchoppers has been through the efforts of Syria, and it’s allies, Russia, and Iran.

Yeah, you’re not really breaking any news to me, hence why I made that comment.
