Novichok is a nerve agent created by the Soviet Union, manufactured by the Soviet Union, and stockpiled by the Soviet Union. It was used to try and kill opponents of the Russian regime. As circumstantial cases go I imagine most prosecutors would be willing to go to trial.

Since the feckless British are refusing to turn over a sample of the chemical agent used, this can't be verified.
My guess is whatever was used in Salisbury does NOT match up with the known Soviet Novichoks.
You make valid point but another point that even if the agent is authentic it doesn’t point at state actors anyway.
