If Donald Trump can't fire his own AG then he's the most useless president in history.

He's fired everyone else, it seems ... so I can only conclude that he's perfectly happy with Sessions.

-- A special counsel would still answer to the DOJ, so I'm not sure why these guys think it would be any different if a second special counsel is named. --

I can see their logic. Mueller reports to DOJ too, but he is able to go places the normal process would not bother. A bit of resource avalability and intimidation involved.

No doubt it would be different. No two prosecutors are alike. The law is incredibly non-uniform.

It’s like Sessions doesn’t work for Trump at all.

I don’t believe he does.

“Two more Ron Brown”

I remember watching on CNN a briefing given by a woman Air Force doctor that did the autopsy on Ron Brown.

She stated that he had a gunshot wound to the head. She was so surprised at finding that she said she went out to her car and got her personal camera and took photos of the wound.

I wonder what happened to her. I only saw or heard mention of that one time.

I’m not sure it was Trump’s mistake to make.

My understanding is that a firing would result in a huge firestorm from Republicans, and would also result in Trump not being able to appoint whoever he wants to the AG spot.

All indications are that Mueller simply picked up where other investigations were already underway. That's why all the indictments related to Manafort, for example, go all the way back to the period where he was already being investigated for matters that have nothing to do with the 2016 campaign.

The only reason for a special counsel these days is when you have a conflict of interest in the existing DOJ structure.

I've been telling Freepers to get off this special counsel thing for months. The most effective way to deal with criminals in the DOJ is from OUTSIDE the DOJ ... in civil lawsuits and with criminal defense work in ongoing cases involving Flynn, Manafort, etc.

Everything Trump does results in a "huge firestorm from Republicans" -- so who gives a sh!t anymore?

I've speculated all along that Trump already knows how this is all going to end.

uranium 1? 2010....

The statute of limitations for most federal crimes is five (5) years, which means that charges must be filed within five years of the date of the alleged crime.

Some federal crimes have longer statutes of limitations, such as:
- Income tax - 6 years
- Major fraud against government - 7 years
- Arson, embezzlement, citizenship fraud - 10 years

There is no statute of limitations for these federal crimes:
- Crimes punishable by death (e.g. Murder, Espionage, Treason)
- Terrorism resulting in death or serious injury
- Sex crimes with a minor

On March 8, Twitter suspended the personal Twitter account of Jessie Liu, the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. USA Liu will prosecute any cases brought within the District. Liu's Twitter offense was her open taunting of the Podesta brothers for their parts in the last crime listed above. The Podestas have no grounds to sue Liu because...

No one sane believes that. Only the anonymous queer followers and drug addled believe Sessions is secretly doing something behind the scenes.

And this passes for argument where?

The general public is past wearied with this show that never ends. The subpoenas ignored, the play acting of seeing evil against ONE SIDE, after squandering a year of the damned obvious flooding the building.

Justice delayed is JUSTICE DENIED.

Have the Swamp runners and the opining intellectual class not figured out that this endless defining of terms and titles, processes and options, all running the clock out on America, is at such a level of the ridiculous it’s a mockery, by now considered gaseous, grossly flatulent at best, and treason at worst?

Look, it’s only fair, that those investigating Trump and his people are all visceral Democrats, and those investigating problematic actions by the Democrats are also Democrats.

Sounds like a level-headed reasoned way to appoint staff, dosen’t it?

Between Ryan, McConnell, and Sessions, Trump really has his work cut out for him.

Yes, anybody appointed by Sessions at this point is tainted. The Sessions DOJ extended the Illegal FISA warrant that is the subject of the investigation.

Meadows should draft a new independent counsel statute and have congress appoint diGenova or Sekulow as special prosecutors reporting to Congress, not the DOJ.

I believe Ken Starr operated under a similar framework.

“These guys” ( of which I align) know a signal when we see one. Some Utah Ute with a short resume “ain’t” it, as they say.

When a prosecutor’s only apparent attribute is his location, I want to laugh ‘til I cry.

Mueller’s politicly murderous mandate says SPECIAL COUNSEL. That title seems to matter.

We’ll have one of those too, please. Pass the mustard.

Lying to Congress is serious, and; we just had the statue of limitations expire on one FBI flunkie.

Disagree. Sessions needs to be FIRED. Rod Rosenstein set this up for an Obama appointee to run the investigation. The deep state is fully engaged in CYA.

God bless ya’, DO.

We’re pretty much starting to be defined as “the little people” around here, by implication, here and there. Fly Over Treatment seems to be emerging.

The disconnect is palpable and there’s real wonderment of a constitutional crisis wafting through this poster’s mind. The little people are not all that when it comes to this perpetual beard stroking. A modicum of timely address is rising to peak demand.

Thank you, and I agree with your follow-on comments.

By rights, we should have tens of millions of armed people in the streets of Washington, D. C.

I don’t advocate for it, but the violations of our Constitution and the abuses of government are ripe with justification for it.

This isn’t just crazy talk. Imagine our elected officials defiantly refusing to build a wall to protect us. Imagine our sanctuary cities acting out against Constitutional authority to defy our immigration laws, keeping killers and rapists and pedophiles on our streets.

I could go on and on an on, but why bother. We all know it.

Our universities take our tax dollars and foment unrest and insurrection. We allow George Soros to break many laws of our nation and do nothing about it.

It’s just shocking what we vote for, and what we get. Folks have always tried to blame the presidents, but it’s now clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have a shadow government that is not content to operate within the confines of our nations laws.

This isn’t idle talk. Take a look at Hillary Clinton, the IRS, the FBI, the CIA...

I’ll stop here. There is a mountain of things that justify a massive revolt fro otherwise law abiding citizens.

President Trump nominated both Sessions and Rosenstein, and despite a few overacted outbursts for public consumption, he has not removed them. That tells me that Trump's plan is in motion. Time will tell...
