Laura Ingraham, a Fox News host, apologized under pressure on Thursday for taunting a survivor of the school shooting in Parkland, Fla., as three companies confirmed they would pull advertising from her show.
The dispute began Wednesday when Ms. Ingraham shared an article about the student, David Hogg, 17, getting rejected from some of the colleges to which he had applied and accused him of whining about it.
In response, Mr. Hogg, who has rapidly become a prominent advocate for gun-control policies, called on Ms. Ingraham’s advertisers to boycott her show. Three of the companies, TripAdvisor, Wayfair and Nutrish, said Thursday they would pull their ads.
As news of the boycotts began coming out on Thursday, Ms. Ingraham apologized.

There’s a different way of looking at Hogg. Weird, goofy kids in high school often get bullied. Some get revenge by killing a few people. Some get revenge by declaring themselves relevant and try to get millions killed by becoming a Nazi gun grabber.

That claim is apparently false.
The original story began from a CBS News video where Hogg appeared to say he rode his bike from home to school after he heard about the shooting.
After a quick scan on Google, I can't find the original CBS video.
Vox and other news sources claim Hogg said he rode his bike back to school at 6 PM.
I can't find the “6 PM” video, either.
Just so everyone knows, Hogg keeps getting rejected because his SAT score is 1270 (apparently out of the old 2400-point system, not the recently-brought-back 1600).

Likely his paperwork was reviewed and rejected by the admissions committees before the Parkland shootings and his miraculous instantaneous rise to fame. His rejection went into a holding location until all of the acceptances and rejections were mailed. If he were rejected, likely his application made so little impression on the admissions committee members no one connected the name of the new celebrity with the rejected application. College admissions committees review thousands of applications and only the truly outstanding applicants are remembered.
Hogg and the press will also not state the obvious. California is a state where progressive thought pervades every process. Whites are less than 50% of the population of a state in which every ethnic minority in the country (except whites) receive affirmative action. There are also gender and economic disadvantage affirmative action programs. As a white male, Hogg falls into a group considered to be privileged and undeserving. Last in line, he was competing against in-state residents and the sons of wealthy donors for the few spaces allocated to white males. Under these circumstances a 4.2 average (on a 5.0 scale) may not have been high enough to make the cut. His essays and test scores may have also been mediocre. Rejection by all schools definitely suggests there was something more than GPA involved in making the decision to reject the application.
Hogg’s parents were also upper middle class whites, a class despised by progressives who consider them to be privileged and undeserving of any success they have realized in society.
Notice no one in the press has challenged the universities. In addition none of the universities have come back and offered him admission. The press, nor the universities will state the truth about his rejection. Unfortunately, no conservative pundit seems willing to risk the firestorm the left will unleash if he/she publicly suggest Hogg is a victim of progressive discrimination against white males.

The quick reaction by companies to dump Laura Ingraham, in response to the tweet of a 17 year old, speaks volumes about the types of people running US companies today. These are the same executives who lobbied aggressively for to lower US tariffs in the 1980’s and 1990’s so they could outsource American manufacturing and middle class jobs. These are the same executives who fight any effort to restrict immigration. These are the same executives who while firing American workers, and holding the pay of those who remained flat, conspired through their interlocking board relationships to increase their own compensation to obscene levels even when their companies missed plans and performed poorly. They put in place golden parachute package to ensure they were richly rewarded even when their decisions resulted in bankruptcies for the companies they stewarded. Then in 2008-2009 their multimillionaire CEO friends at “too big to fail banks and companies” ran to the government for multibillion dollar bailouts during an economic downturn which destroyed hundreds of thousands of small businesses and cost the jobs of millions of average citizens. I seem to remember the beneficiaries of the government bailouts were paying themselves multimillion dollar bonuses within a year of being saved by taxes paid by the fellow citizens they callously cast out of their companies with no remorse.
Our society has become immoral. Leaders have no respect for the people they lead. No one accepts personal responsibility nor due institutions impose accountability on leaders and the morally depraved. Even children engage in the politics of hate and personal destruction.
A society cannot endure in which there are no reasoned arguments when subjects are debated, and disagreement with preferred groups results in complete destruction of those trying to point out facts contrary to the politically correct meme of the day.
Tyranny is running unrestrained in this country. People are afraid to stand in the way. The trend line is clear and the story will not have a happy ending for anyone.
Young Mr. Hogg might want to take some time out from trying to destroy those he perceives as against him and spend a little time reading history. During the French Revolution, even the tyrant Mr. Robespierre ended up resting his head on the guillotine.
He needs to enroll at the University of STFU. The University of Phoenix would probably accept him.
I sent each of those companies a tweet with the video of the profanity riddled interview Hogg did last week. I thanked the companies for letting us know that THIS was the kind of behavior that they supported and would avoid using their products in the future.
EXACTLY! HE gave the interview to TMZ - not exactly some quiet little outlet. Once he gave the interview, it’s all fair game. At least Laura didn’t call him a “child murderer with blood on his hands”.
My complaint with Laura before this was she has these horrible lefties on her show and then can’t keep them under control.. she lets them talk over her.. she should cut their mikes. I turn her off when they get to spiel their garbage unstopped.
