Twenty years ago this month, 59 percent of California voters passed a ballot measure designed to set up a state-run immigration system and deny most public benefits including K-12 education to illegal immigrants. Proposition 187 was widely viewed as one of the harshest anti-immigrant measures in the country. But when President Barack Obama last week signed executive orders to protect about 5 million undocumented immigrants from deportation, there were only muted protests in the Golden State. And polls show that more Californians back Obama on this than oppose him. Its a very different atmosphere from what we had in the 1990s, when there was more fear, said pollster Mark Baldassare, president and CEO of the Public Policy Institute of California.

California voters voted. An activist judge overrode CA voters.
This an old article but I just noticed the original date is 2014, but updated in 2016.
bttt
...back then they were farm workers just earning enough to send home...today they manage farms, have free health care, send their kids to school, and use EBT cards. ....but they still manage to send money back home...so much so...that money that comes from the US is Mexico’s second highest source of income....it’s come along way since picking lettuce
All that but 59% of CA voters voted them OUT. I was one of those voters. Our votes did not count.
Now more than half of California are illegal aliens and their anchor baby demon spawn. All but conquered.
Attitudes didn’t change. They overran the state with illegals who took over. My God Look how insistent they are now about ignoring any semblance of the law.
Same thing with gay “marriage”
That's about the size of it.
...not only that, 20-25 years ago,
they were migrant workers...not members of MS13....not killing innocents while driving (DUI’s)...
or just killing people, rapes, knifings, were very uncommon....today it’s a weekly occurance...
Let me rephrase my last answer because I misread your response:
There are many patriots in CA. I’m one, many of my friends are patriots.
“Anchor baby demon spawn”...seriously? Sounds like you have issues.
It’s a term of endearment for court created citizens. CINOs- citizens in name only. Deportable—just like their illegal alien parents.
“......that money that comes from the US is Mexicos second highest source of income”.........
Perhaps Trump will com up with a way to head off that outpouring currency to help pay for the wall. Now that I would like to witness.
Double digit billions....
Illegals sending billions back to Mexico is part of the Mexican govt’s official policy.
THE GOVT OF MEXICO CONSIDERS MEXICANS ON US SOIL TO BE
MEXICAN CITIZENS SUBJECT TO THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO
A sworn affidavit by Mexico’s Consul General to a Texas court asserts that Mexico’s official govt policy
is to encourage its poor people to migrate here illegally in order to access our generous welfare system.
The Mexican consul’s sworn testimony asserts: “My responsibilities in this position include protecting the rights and promoting the interests of my fellow Mexican nationals, and, that the main responsibility of consulates is to provide services, assistance, and protection to Mexican nationals abroad.” US SOIL ARE MEXICAN CITIZENS.

A footnote states that Mexican nationality is granted to children born abroad of a Mexican born parent. IOW, anchor babies born in the US retain parents Mexican nationality.
Ergo, illegals have two governments looking after their interests.....our govt subsidizing them,
and the Mexican govt making sure they collect.
Its time the US govt looks after the interests of American citizens.
And, California is lost because a judge over-ruled the voters. It will never be recovered, IMO.
That’s right; many of the supporters of the rule of law either left or died off - the attitudes didn’t. This was just spin, like those who trumpet that marriage is improving as an institution because the divorce rate fell. In fact, there are less divorces because so many people today couldn’t be bothered with getting married. They may live together for decades (or their whole lives), may have children, etc. - but there is no legal or spiritual contract binding them, hence no need for “divorce”.
