Heineken, in response to allegations of racism, has pulled its lighter is better ad promoting the beer giants Heineken Light from TV and internet spots. The ad shows a bartender sliding a beer down the bar past three people who are all black. The beer then stops in front of a lighter-skinned woman after displaying the words Sometimes, lighter is better on the screen. The ad has been removed from Heinekens HEINY, -0.92% official channels but has been re-posted by others. Naturally, the internet went into a fury upon viewing the ad both in support and against Heineken.

Heineken’s just did that to get FREE PUBLICITY! It WORKED!!
Meh. I’m a Guinness fan. :)
They won’t be anywhere near satisfied until all actor and actress parts are filled with black people.
Am I the only one who thinks this race card thing is way outta hand.
Remember Harley Davidson trying to patent the “potato, potato” sound they make? Everybody was talking about it. OF COURSE they couldn’t patent it. But it sure got them a lot of free publicity.
It’s funny beyond the pail...everyone jumped on it...
>>Im a Guinness fan. :)<<
When was younger I loved Guinness. Strangely, when I got older it started to taste salty to me — to the point that I stopped liking it.
I am a Stella guy when I can’t get a Dortmunder Union or Fischer La Belle.
They have run out of real racist things to get upset over, and now they are attacking insignificant things that are not racist.
They haven’t finished yet. Think of all those things with “White” or “Black” or “Brown.”
Yes, but HOW black?
Most blacks in commercials are very light skinned, especially the women. Most 'African-Americans' look unlike Africans but more like folks from a Coppertone ad.
Some people are waaaaaay to sensitive to this crapolla. LMAO!
>>Its funny beyond the pail<<
OK, a double riff there on purpose?
Imagine the racist charge if it was the other way.....”sometimes darker is better”......can’t win with these mental cases.
And...Guinness is darker so maybe Chance the Crapper would like that.
What is the future for white bread and brown bread?
The woman who receives the beer appears to be some kind of hispanic or asian. shouldn't they have chosen some kind of Aryan goddess with blond pigtails and a viking helmet?
When I moved from Seattle to KY I thought I was giving up good beer. Boy, was I wrong.
I think microbrews are a bigger thing here than in Seattle, though I loved a lot of the stuff from Ballard Bitters and their place west of Freemont.
Cinco de Mayo is coming soon.
