The rumor mill is that Paul Ryan is getting ready to resign in the next 30 to 60 days and that Steve Scalise will be the new Speaker, Amodei told Nevada Newsmakers, referring to the Majority Whip.

Ryans office denied that the Speaker is heading for the exits. Ryan has said he and his wife will decide in the spring about whether he will run for reelection.
The speaker is not resigning, said Ryans spokeswoman AshLee Strong in a statement on Monday.

There is a huge benefit to Scalise if this is not #FakeNews and if Scalise stays patriotic: He has what the shallow left sees as credibility in defending our individual right to keep and bear arms. Hes been shot (unlike most professional victims of the latest school shooting), and he still believes in individual freedom.
