CNN In Full Meltdown Over Zinke Allegedly Favoring ‘Excellence’ Over ‘Diversity’

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is taking heat for allegedly telling staffers he would focus on “excellence” and finding the “best people” to work at the department, not “diversity.”

Zinke’s lack of concern over “diversity” at the Interior Department angered some staffers, who rushed to tell CNN. The news network on Monday ran with the chyron: “Zinke angers many by saying it’s more important to find best people; Dept denies.”

Each time Zinke was asked about diversity, he would respond, “what’s important is having the right person for the right job,” or “I care about excellence, and I’m going to get the best people, and you’ll find we have the most diverse group anyone’s ever had,” sources told CNN.

Zinke’s spokeswoman denied he made those comments, telling CNN “the anonymous claims made against the secretary are untrue.”

Seems mighty racist of CNN to assume that if Zinke only hired the best, he wouldn’t be hiring minority or women.

You would just think common sense would dictate this. I watched a professor at a prestigious college near here get totally shot down by the Superintendent of Schools for daring to ask what they did for Gifted Kids. “You think your kids are smarter than somebody else’s kids? Kids are all smart if they are given the chance. IF your child understands a concept before another child, we will have your child help the slower one.” “Do you pay them the same as the teachers?” haha. He did NOT put his child in the publics, needless to say.

Apparently CNN opted for diversity.

When you have lemons, you make lemonade-- you promote Don Lemon to an anchor reporting position.

I’m 66. Up until the time I was about 20, I assumed women and blacks in professional and high-level positions were extremely competent because not only did they master the relevant subject matter, but they also had to break through the old-boy network (I’m not saying that was right, it was just the way it was).

What changed for me at 20 was seeing some of the people who were let into my husband’s PhD program though affirmative action - and seeing some of the affirmative-action faculty hires. I went from assuming high competence for those groups to assuming low competence.

And, yeah, people are okay with allowing the best to participate in sports but not in academics. Years ago, our school district stopped having different levels of various courses. My neighbor was happy about it because now her son wouldn’t feel bad about not being in the “top” math group. But she was fine with her son making the track team and mine not.

There are many people of many ethnic backgrounds who would prefer it that way.

Diversity is destructive

The quest for diversity has been like a plague on our cities that some ball bubonic. America has been rent by the misguided utopian notion that diversity is a panacea to religious ills.

The progressive plague must be ended

Through casual viewing of CNN broadcasts, this is clearly an operating principle that is alien to that network.

This Obama-indoctrinated Interior Department has bought into the "diversity is essential" scam hook, line and sinker.

So now the Dem-ridden Interior Deparment is in the position of whining out the argument that "diversity" trumps "excellence" in presonnel placement.

IOW, you can have diversity or you can have excellence--you can't have both.

How would the libs like to have a heart operation performed on them by a surgeon of doubtful qualifications hired because of “diversity”? Or fly on an airliner piloted by a “diversity” hire? Such BS.

After eight years of Obama, many federal agencies are full of people hired for the wrong reasons. I would not be surprised if some of them aren’t nervous.
