See my post 16 for reasoning (and I was not snarky about it)...Guess I should have hit abuse (which I did NOT do) and asked it be moved so I don’t have to defend my question, but rather I asked poster why, as cannot have everything in breaking news sidebar or it defeats the purpose of the sidebar—kind of like highlighting every sentence, and every paragraph.
I see it was moved off the Breaking News Sidebar, so maybe I was not so out of line to merely ask.

Since you asked in public, I’ll respond likewise.
I think my position was clear in my response to the catchy picture. If I was going to do what you did, I’d have done it by private reply and as politely as possible.
I am not a Moderator, and so I don’t as a general rule take it upon myself to police the threads. I also don’t assume that every one on the board would necessarily agree with me as to what is breaking news.
Was that post the best choice for breaking news-my opinion would be no, but I’m glad it was, because I would probably have missed it. In addition that breaking news has had pretty slow turnover lately, so it was a relief to have something new to pick up and read.
I leave such posting issues up to the MODs-Obviously ymmv.
