It has now emerged that the brave officer wed his partner Marielle while on his deathbed in a hospital in Carcassonne.

His bride wept uncontrollably as they said their prayers in the Catholic ceremony just hours before he passed away.

The couple met during a tour of an abbey in France in 2016 and had planned a church wedding for June.

Father Jean-Baptiste, the priest who carried out the moving service, said the pair had 'spent some 30 hours preparing for their marriage ceremony'.

He added: 'I gave him the sacrament of marriage, and the sacrament of the sick'.

Beltrame was an 'extremely intelligent and courageous man', he said.

The French need to realize that it is Islam that murdered this policeman and will continue to murder others until the Islam ideology is destroyed.

I have been working half days this week (24 hrs in a day) and have been trying back track to the thread of the terror attack in France.

Do you have the link?

Incredible bravery, and also the practicality of leaving his fiancee as his wife/widow. She will be entitled to benefits now that she would not have had they not had the marriage ceremony. Thoughtful to the very last moments. And I am sure she wanted his name and to be his wife/widow, to hold on to that.

But doesn’t France outlaw guns?

How did ISIS get them?

Oh they disobeyed the law.

The old saying stands, “When you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns”.

When I got married my divorced uncle had to drop the sour note by saying that my husband and I should have just lived together. Ten years later when my cousin got married, Uncle made similar comments. He’s been divorced for 50 years now and he’s still the voice of doom whenever someone gets married. Please don’t embitter your life like that.
