Lieu to Trump on spending bill: You got rolled
The Hill ^ | 03/23/18 | JOHN BOWDEN

Posted on 03/23/2018 10:21:47 PM PDT by aquila48

Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu (Calif.) taunted President Trump on Twitter Friday evening after the president signed a massive $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill. Trump threatened to veto the bill before ultimately signing it, decrying the bill's lack of funding for his border wall proposal.

Lieu mocked Trump on Friday after the bill's signing, saying that Trump was "rolled" by Republican leaders in Congress who failed to secure a deal with Democrats over border wall funding or a legislative fix for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) recipients.

"Dear @realDonaldTrump: You wimped out. You failed to deliver on your veto threat. Now we in Congress will believe you even less," Lieu tweeted.

"The Republican controlled Congress just rolled you. And they will roll you again. Because when the moment of truth came, you showed great weakness," the California lawmaker added.

#81: "One of the biggest blunders in American history was when President Nixon resigned."

Yep. He did nothing worthy of the way he was abused. He was a good man. Not saying I agreed with everything he did, but he was a patriot and loved this country.

True this. He has said as much with the
opioid epidemic. 60,000 people have
died in 2017 from drug overdose. This
is truly a state of emergency.

“The charge the Democrats pull out of the hat when they win the majority in November.”

Exactly.

“So much desperate reaching to bash Trump. It’s become boring.”

I don’t think people are blaming Trump so much as they are vilifying — and rightfully so! — the disgusting Republicans in Congress who rolled him. Blame Ryan and McConnell, and those who supported them. They are the real villains here.

“Ryan betrayed America. McConnell can hide behind the 60 vote rule. Ryan has no excuse. He betrayed his country.”

Yup, Eddie Munster is not long for the Speakership. The Rats are going to take the House in November, so in January, 2019 there will be a new Speaker, and Ryan — if he even gets re-elected in his own district — will be consigned to getting coffee for the new Speaker.

I never said otherwise. What I said is that, on balance, he's done an outstanding job and advanced a conservative agenda on multiple different issues.

Thanks, Kazan, for seeing the big picture. It's literally as if people have forgotten there's an attempted coup on.

There's a total lack of perspective on display in the aftermath of President Trump's signing of this 6-month spending bill! In context, the unhinged hand-wringing amounts to sheer lunacy, and it's on display by ostensible Trump-supporters—who have suddenly and inexplicably transmuted into latent #NeverTrumpers. There's simply no other way to characterize those who are indulging in such breathtaking short-sightedness—again, in response to the President signing of a 6-month spending bill!

Nobody is saying that Deplorables have to be happy about the President signing this piece of garbage—but we must remember a few things if we're to maintain our collective sanity:

This all gets to my primary point, in case anyone has forgotten—and apparently many Deplorables have, judging by their unhinged response to the President's signing of a 6-month spending bill: To reiterate: the President of this Constitutional Republic is in the midst of fighting off an overt and ongoing criminal conspiracy—literally an attempted coup—fomented by the Deep State, the Democrat party, and large elements of the GOP itself! Essentially, the entire Establishment Swamp is waging war against We the People, our President, and our entire Constitutional system!

Now, I'm supposed to believe that—under these unique conditions, with the entire Trump Presidency (not to mention the Republic itself) at stake—we actually have supposed supporters of the President who are saying "all is lost", and that they can't support him any longer—all because he signed a 6-month spending bill?

Put down the crack pipe, snowflakes! Adhering to such utterly narrow-minded and patently asinine reasoning—given what's at stake—is aught but masturbatory #NeverTrump self-indulgence—signifying someone who is profoundly detached from objective, practical reality.

We are at war, and losing one battle over a 6-month spending bill—in the midst of an attempted coup—is simply not sufficient reason to turn someone into a #NeverTrumper. Anyone whose support the President loses as a result of signing this bill was never willing to give the President a fair chance in the first place. Such behavior veritably epitomizes the terms "summer soldier" and "sunshine patriot".

There's a coup on, for God's sake! Wake the Hell up and get over your selfish butthurt!

#NeverTrump is as #NeverTrump does...

Trump don’t get rolled, he has something big up his sleeve.

He works the Art Of The Deal in every aspect of his existence.

The stable-genius knows what he is up to.

Don’t despair!

Who knows what to believe anymore but Rush was saying that while THIS Bill says “6 months” the LAST Bill said “just continue at current levels until 2021 (two more years) so this Bill actually is going to stick for two years not 6 months.

What do you base that claim on—even though I know it has been making the rounds on the Interwebs?

The word ‘budget’ doesn’t actually appear in the Constitution.

Never, ever fail to really listen to what libs say. When Diane Feinstein says she wants your guns, believe her. When Maxine Waters says she will do everything she can to impeach Trump, believe her. We have been screwed too many times by thinking they couldn’t be serious.

We should be concerned. President Trump wasn't just for upgrading our military, he was for upgrading our military to keep us safe. Instead, he's bought into more time in Afghanistan instead of finding a window of opportunity to leave. He's on the wrong side, against Assad and in support of the Kiev coup. He did not campaign as a war monger. Yet, he seems to have no cynicism about the misdeeds of Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Signing the bill was wrong and not very clever. At the very least, be should have gotten McDonnell to pass a 96 hour extension. He should have told McDonnell and Ryan to get the swampthings back to DC because he wouldn't sign the bill until they read it and fixed it.

He's still getting bad advice, so it seems.

You mean, like Clinton? Taking MarineOne to go golf for the weekend?

The Senate votes to remove, noob.

After he is impeached and walks to the helicopter to leave the White House, he will remember today.

Would not be surprised.

Are you talking about the libs on The Hill or the libs on FR that are whooping it up?
