Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown. In a morning tweet, Trump said he might veto the omnibus bill because it does nothing to address the fate of young undocumented immigrants known as dreamers and does not fully fund his border wall. But speaking to reporters at the White House about four hours later, Trump said he had decided to sign the bill despite his reservations, arguing that it provides much-needed funding for the military, including a pay increase for troops and new equipment.Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown.

Blue wave became a blue hurricane today
I can’t wait to see our military build up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm still pondering the whole thing. FR posts seem to be about 90 percent hysterical. 1 in 10 is citing the many many positive things he has accomplished in 14 years.
You should have supported Bush or Kasich.
And without the wall and ending DACA Trump won't get them, which Trump just shut the door on.
The biggest betrayal of this presidency and will have consequences.
No border wall, no defunding of sanctuary city, and no defunding of Planned Parenthood. What an ass of a president. He could easily have delivered a prime time address and warned Congress that if these three items were not addressed he won’t sign the bill. This man is an idiot.
I didn't sign the surrender, Trump did.
I love the headlines coming out now, don’t you? Pelosi, Schumer declare victory with GOP spending bill
You see one like this for Trump yet?
Amen
He is going to literally destroy his progressive enemies.
Today’s actions are trivial in comparison to the coming destruction to the progressives
Should but I’m a positive thinker. Unlike you “give up” weenies. I’ve been through 8 years of obamatard, think this will make me give up? Yeah, run and hide..
Read my lips. Drain the swamp.
I was wondering that myself. Exactly WHO can release or withhold the money allowed by Congress. The wall was approved many, many years ago, but was never funded. Can Trump withhold the release of the funds for the things in this bill he and we disagree with? If not, who can???
You and me both. I feel sick over this. He gave up everything he promised - PP, obamacare, etc. For what? Military spending? Possibly he could have gotten what he wanted for the military through the DOD. Instead, he sold us out -
Yes he did. Trump should have vetoed it, and forced congress to override him, but by signing it he now owns this crap sandwich.
I’m with you! If he and his don’t start tryly draining the swamp by the 2018 elections I’m done. Out of politics forever. I’ll still do the NRA as I’ve got a family and property to protect.
Trump had no choice.
BS!
In other words we should just lay back and enjoy it. Oh well some of us older ones are used to it.
