Congressional Republicans are jeopardizing the Second Amendment rights of 4.2 million senior citizens. At the same time, they have voted to funnel tens of millions of dollars to gun control organizations and support other actions that Democrats will love. All of this is wrapped up in the giant $1.3 trillion spending bill that the House of Representatives approved Thursday on a 256-167 vote and sent to the Senate.

And no, trolls, the answer is not to stay home and refuse to vote in the midterm elections. Write to your Senators. Tell them to stop the bill and fix it. Join a Second Amendment organization now.

Less than 2 weeks before the next FReepathon begins.
We need to finish this one first.
Come on, FReepers, this ends TONIGHT!

With Republicans like this, conservatives don’t need enemies.
When they voted to fully fund the Democrat agenda lock, stock and barrel, what do we need a GOP House majority for?
To give us the Mother Of All Pork Barrel bills? Thanks but no thanks.

And no, trolls, the answer is not to stay home and refuse to vote in the midterm elections. Well, you can go out there with your yard sign and proudly donate to your Republican or other Big Conservative, Inc. special-interest group.
Me? I'm not putting my faith in the ballot box anymore.

All you party faithful out there who've been telling me how cynical I am, and how I need to lighten up and have faith, please tell me again how my cynicism is unjustified.

This is the uniparty play...Trump said congress should do it's job. They did. They sent the bill that the uniparty always wanted. And they're daring Trump to veto it so they can blame Trump for obstructing the bi-partisian bill.
I don't know how Trump avoids this.

Then what comes next, do we have to try to overthrow this foreign occupied government. It does look like some kind of Civil conflict is inevitable.

Better tweet if you have it. Send an email if you don’t. Otherwise it will be law and Congress will be out of DC. They don’t want to be there when the gun grabber march shows up.

Who's talking about overthrowing? I'm saying conservatives and patriots will simply tune out D.C. and live their own lives, while the gimme-thats rip each other throats out in the cities.
The beauty of Trump is that he's a stop-gap measure and allowed patriots time to regroup. I'M PREPARED. I knew the Republicans were going to sell-out Trump.

The last true hope and miracle for American Conservatives was President Trump. The government around the President hate him and us. True representation is all but dead. The Republic has taken an ugly turn. There really is only one answer left when the vote is meaningless. I thought America would never see times like this. I believe there are forces since 9/11 who took advantage of the crisis and ripped the guts of our government apart trashing the Constitution looking to be in the position that Washington DC (commonly called the Swamp) is in right now. President Trump seems to be a bump in the road.

Re: Just before President Obama left office, his administration finalized new regulations banning Social Security recipients from buying a gun if they have trouble managing their finances.
Sorry, that sounds bogus.
What national criteria would be used to judge someone’s financial competence?
Are all seniors required to get yearly financial competence exams? Do we have financial mental health experts?
I do recall that Obama enacted regulations that would forbid some people on Social Security Disability from owning a gun.
Is that what this refers to?

"I do recall that Obama enacted regulations that would forbid some people on Social Security Disability from owning a gun.

It looks that way to me. The examples in the news before were PTSD cases involving old veterans. Employees of VA hospitals were reportedly putting some of them on the "prohibited" list. I must admit, though, that's not due process. The standard should be a judge's statement of mental incompetence after a proper mental evaluation (or whatever in legal terms--"adjudication").

Yes, exactly! If we allow the Democrats to get a majority in Congress, they can impeach and convict the President! We must not let that happen.
And that's why we've been seeing the same trolls here repeatedly arguing against voting in the midterm elections. They want the President to lose support against impeachment.

Even though a conviction by the Senate is unlikely (two-thirds majority required), a simple majority in the House and an impeachment would cause more than enough trouble. It could be enough of a problem to push the President to resign, and it would certainly further hamper his efforts to do his job.
