How can I tell I'm getting old? My go-to music choices don't even come close to popular music currently topping the charts. When I drive my son to preschool, I proudly blast the classic rock station -- which now plays music from the 1990s. If listening to the likes of Pearl Jam and U2 makes me an old fogey? I can deal with that.
Perhaps this is something my parents would have argued a few decades ago, but I firmly believe that there is a good amount of music from the '90s that was so solid it will never be outdated. And I can't say that for much of what I hear on popular radio stations today.
If not for anything but a bit of nostalgia, let's take a look at the top songs from the '90s that still hold their own, shall we?

“Oasis is a good band from the 90s.. put out good stuff. Guns and Roses”
Never heard of either of them. (I’m very old.) ;)
Thanks for the history of the song.
.
“All they had to do was play the original version.”

Thanx, don’t think I heard that before.
I believe there was some trouble in getting the lyrics and they were investigating the Kingsmen cover in specific, which nobody could understand, but everybody thought was dirty.
About the only 90s group I listen to is Nirvana.
For songs where I know at least part of the tune, I use an app called “Soundhound” to try to find out what it is. Being a bit of a musician helps as I can either sing words or imitate the music. I usually get a match.
Muskrat Luv.
Loving Joe Jackson more so now than in the 90s.
Oh man, that's some harsh reviewin' right there !
Yes. And I liked early Pearl Jam, a lot of REM's stuff, LIVE, Soundgarden, and yes, I did like Sinead O'Connor. I know she's a head case but she does have a beautiful voice.
... except for Yoko

Funny how their most known song was inspired by Kathleen Hanna , the lead singer of Bikini Kill. She wrote “Kurt smells like Teen Spirit” on Cobain’s wall. Cobain didn’t know it referred to the deodorant named “Teen Spirit”.
I liked the music of the 60’s, especially the Beatles, but after 1970 I was too busy to care about music. Now that I am retired, I can’t stand the music of the present, especially rap or hiphop or whatever it is called these days

Put some hair and makeup on the poor messed-up lass and she’s still nuts, but she at least looks a lot better.

Only decent band that came from the 90s was Radiohead.
“I have never heard that one. But has a very Beatles feel to it. I like it.”

When it came out a lot of people for awhile thought it was the Beatles using a cover name.
Soundhound sounds like something I can use to track down tunes that I am unable to identify.

“People that hate the Beatles should be sent to Gitmo”.
I found that people that hate the Beatles are usually just anal about Their Bands and thinking THEIR taste is the only Taste.
