Two students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have been arrested today for bringing weapons to school. A third student is being evaluated for making online threats.
The first student, 18-year-old Jordan Salter, was arrested after pulling a two-inch black knife from her bra after a disagreement with another student took place, the Sun Sentinel reported.
The second student, Gavin Stricker, 17, allegedly brandished a knife on the school bus earlier in the day.
On top of everything else, a Broward County deputy was placed on administrative leave for allegedly sleeping on the job.

I think having a knife in one’s bra would be pretty uncomfortable.
“This place” is the public school system in America.
Well, at least they werent guns.
Funny how it names the minor child. But not the cop.
Will the students also march for knife control?
Ahh, kids these days....
Will they have walkouts for knife control?
Deeper in the story, is Moises. The sleeping cop.
It’s Broward county folks...parkland looks nice as you drive by but meet some of the people and you’ll be shocked .....miserable people
I think everyone should walk out everyday. Shut the whole place down.
Broward is run by liberal democrats that explains a lot.
Ping.
Security is beefed up during the school day, he [Superintendent Runcie] said, but not after school is dismissed. The district may expand heightened security until 6 p.m., he said, so that students participating in after-school activities are protected. [emphasis added]
May expand??? Sounds like a no-brainer that even the brainless Broward school administration should be able to grasp.
And if I was doing the mental health examination of that student carrying a 9 inch knife in his backpack, taking into account his sister was in a classroom that was shot up, I'd call him one of the sanest people in Coward County. After all, his Sheriff and deputies have proven incompetent at providing reliable protection.
“What the hell is wrong with this place?”
“This place is the public school system in America.”
The public school system is an obviously failed experiment (add to that all the kids ‘diagnosed’ and drugged) yet they now want your kids starting at age 3.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
This is Obama’s legacy, we are now seeing the criminal element festering at this school and the arrogant lack of responsibility in law enforcement there
Was it a jackknife ? A black jackknife?
Ms. Salter, is that a hicky on your neck?
Ooooooh.......Black!
(2" including the handle?)
Correct.
I marvel in the aftermath of these incidents why public schools are still treated like the sun and the moon ie they have always been there and always will be. I also marvel at compulsory attendance laws which are an anachronism from the agrarian era when kids were watched at home, watched at church and watched at school.
Well, the left has ruined the first two of those and is concentrating on the third since it’s the only place parents can’t be involved.
Compulsory attendance (for high schoolers at least) and their flat-out refusal to properly expel the psychos - no special classes, no home ed services, no rehab - means peaceful students who actually want to learn are herded into small rooms every day all day with sickos who want to kill them.
The public schools complain that everyone wants them to be everything to everybody. Their task is impossible but not for the reasons they think. Their task is impossible because their task is impossible full stop. They should be abolished.
Something in the water...
