Minneapolis doesn't care one whit about Miss Damond's life. They were fawning over office Noor a few years ago; practically wetting themselves in an orgy of self-praise about their diversity.

The lesson here is don’t call the cops for any reason.

This is the *real* reason for this arrest. "Don't call the cops" strikes at the heart of the primary means local government justifies its existence, and the Minneapolis city government is afraid.
