A student pulled out a gun and shot two other students at a high school in southeast Maryland Tuesday morning before the shooter was fatally wounded, the St. Mary’s County sheriff says.

The student entered Great Mills High School in Great Mills at the beginning of the school day and shot a female student in a hallway, Sheriff Tim Cameron told News4. A male student also was hit by a bullet.

Since forever. Maryland is south of the Mason-Dixon line. Lincoln had to send federal troops into Maryland to keep it from seceding. The official star song “Maryland, My Maryland” contains “northern scum” in the lyrics.

I had to look it up because I would have called it New England but apparently, although it is one of the original 13, it’s not technically ‘new england’. Here in Missouri, I’d say many of us would call that New England. One of all them yankee states up in thar.

Maryland was a neutral state during the Civil War. It was essentially occupied territory and would have seceded except for the preponderance of Federal troops stationed there and extra-Constitutional actions taken by President Lincoln.

That is what I have heard. This officer did not go and hide behind a wall and wait for back up. He did what he was trained to do.
