Her personal failing began before she married Bill Clinton, but it was as his wife that she was reduced to a shrill, bitter, unlikeable human being. And, I believe that it is the mental and emotional anguish of her years as his wife, her loss to the likes of Obama and then her crushing defeat by Donald Trump that has reduced her to what she is today.
I think that while her husband embarrassed her and publicly reduced her to a pathetic caricature of womanhood, her sense of entitlement overpowered her sense of dignity. I believe she felt that her vindication for the inhumane public humiliation she suffered at the hands of Bill Clinton would forgotten by her ascension to the presidency. She would be the first woman president, and all of the historical trappings that would accompany her occupying that position would erase the years of shame she had endured. I also believe that is why she so viciously attacked the women her husband had beaten, raped and molested. She wasn’t defending him as much as she was fighting to protect what she viewed as her right of ascension.

Bill Clinton needed to take a buggy whip to her big rear end years ago. Instead, he allowed himself to be ruled by this miserable shrew. There’s a psychological reason he publicly humiliated her over and over again. He hates her.

Hillary became Hillary well before she ever met Bill Clinton. She is very, very familiar to me, as I have a bonafide narcissistic mother - and it was hell. It's a personality disorder that goes beyond voluntary actions. The narcissist sees the world with themselves at the center. They need to be great, historical, beyond others. They are also essentially incapable of normal equal relationships with others.
Talk to a narcissist and they really don't hear you, and they aren't really interested in what you have to say. They are just waiting to be able to do the talking, holding court, being the one who is listened to. It's all about them. They don't really know their families and loved ones, because they objectify others and fit them in as accoutrements to their own lives. They're proud of what their children accomplish, but not about who their children are. They really don't know who their children are.
After over 40 years of marriage, when my father was dying of cancer, my mother really couldn't be there for him. He spoke to me privately one day and told me that he should just die, because my mother was getting tired of it (his illness). Her comments to me at the time were essentially that my father was faking his difficulties walking and getting around (he had a tumor on his spine at that point) and that it 'wasn't easy on the caretaker' (her). When he wanted to come home and have home hospice, and to see the yard, trees, and plants he had nurtured, she wouldn't let him. That is just a small example of what happened over the years, and I won't go into further boring details. Suffice it to say, however, that I recognize narcissism when I see it, and I have a visceral response to it. Hillary elicits that response, and she is clearly a narcissist.
Public office is supposed to be about service, not about 'winning, and showing that you are great'. Hillary wanted to be historic, and she gave up everything that was truly important in life to do so. Now that she has fallen short, it will haunt her, and her self identity is in shambles. She had the Clinton Foundation, and could have done honest and good work for others, traveling the world at the same time. She has a daughter and a grandchild, and she could spend these later years of her life watching and sharing in the joy of their lives. She could have done a lot of things, but the most important thing for her was to be special, historical, transformative, different than all of the 'masses'.
It's a fools game to have those aspirations, for many reasons. First, personal 'glory' ultimately is not what determines the meaning of someones life. Second, pathological focus on personal achievement can blind you to truth and prevent you from sharing loving relationships with others - and that's what really matters, particularly when your life is winding down and you reflect on what you've done with it. Truly trying to be a caring person, choosing to do the right things, making sacrifices for others, and sharing friendships and loving relationships with others are eternal accomplishments. Being blinded by personal ambitions such that you fail to see or do what is truly important is an Earthly failure. 'Lay not up for yourselves treasures on Earth'..
I'm sorry for the diatribe, but this is kind of personal for me.
In Hillary view, Hillary’s desired ends always justify the means.
Whether it was taking questionable legal tactics during Nixon’s impeachment.
Whether it was having a child based on poll results
Whether it was shady land deals in Arkansas
Whether it was trading cattle futures
Whether it was her health care task force in Bill’s first term
Whether it was reviewing FBI files on her opponents.
All of this occurred before she ran for the Senate.
Whatever Hillary wants is justified because of whatever she wants is the intellectually correct, morally pure choice.
Your source for that little bit of nonsense is the fake news media.
