Scientific American continues on its activist leftward path, diluting its scientific brand by transmitting biased anti-gun propaganda under the cover of academic sociology.
The latest entry was posted Wednesday and has become a popular post: “Why Are White Men Stockpiling Guns? -- Research suggests it's largely because they're anxious about their ability to protect their families, insecure about their place in the job market and beset by racial fears.”
If that headline wasn’t a giveaway, writer Jeremy Adam Smith's bio left little hope for an objective take: “....author or co-editor of four books, including The Compassionate Instinct and Are We Born Racist?”
After pointing out that “Since the 2008 election of President Obama, the number of firearms manufactured in the U.S. has tripled....” Smith asked “So, who is buying all these guns -- and why?”
His answer, boiled down: Dumb racists.
....The American citizen most likely to own a gun is a white male -- but not just any white guy. According to a growing number of scientific studies, the kind of man who stockpiles weapons or applies for a concealed-carry license meets a very specific profile.
These are men who are anxious about their ability to protect their families, insecure about their place in the job market, and beset by racial fears. They tend to be less educated....

Specifically the same reason why I dropped National Geographic 20 years ago, after being in my family since 1955.

The main purpose of intelligence is survival and growth. Absent of that, intelligence has no objective meaning. That’s why fools like the author here can say “intelligent” things and chide “uneducated racists”. Recall that not 50 years ago a high school diploma made you an “educated” person. (Of course it doesn’t now but that’s pure marketing). So are our high school graduates not educated? Do minorities not purchase guns in the same amounts and, why not? If this were ANY other topic this fool would be demanding financial assistance to these underserved minorities who aren’t able to exercise their rights.
But no... it’s the white racists (only whites can be racist y’know that was another important(tm) article.

this is the inherent danger in allowing “scientists” to determine if someone is “of sound mind” or “mentally fit” when it comes to gun ownership.
the statists are corrupting so many institutions: academe, childhood education, churches, research and consumer advocacy centers, think tanks, entertainment, industry, boards of directors...

Speaking of Border Patrol and ICE. ICE was at the my shooting range last month. I was really impressed by their firearms. Man on man, was I drooling. They had to get special permission to shoot automatic weapons, man you talk about fire power. Plus, the golf cart was loaded with ammo cans, that we purchased.
They were out in Okeechobee County, conducting raids. They had their hands full, out there.
And last, but not least, you must disarm the target group before launching your 'final solution'.
Another example of settled science. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was the usual 97% consensus of its veracity among social scientists.
