Republican Danny Tarkanian has reportedly agreed to drop his primary against Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) and instead run for the House after getting a public shove from President Trump on Fridayto do so, boosting Hellers chances of reelection in the Democratic-leaning state.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reported that Tarkanian has decided on another House run (hes lost two previous bids for the House and six different campaigns in the state) almost immediately after Trump tweeted that he should do so and leave Heller alone.

“Any relation to the basketball coach?”
Yes, this is Jerry’s son. I remember him as a Long Beach State ballboy in 1972 when Jerry was coaching there.
I like Danny but he would not win a statewide race.

+1.

Are you thinking of J.D. Hayworth?
Perhaps it's the wrong call, but I'm glad Trump is taking an active interest in the Congressional races.
Ryan and Mueller don't seem to be.
exactly...got a feeling that Ginsberg etc are gonna wait one more election before they finally call it quits...plus the Senate will stop the libs big impeachment nonsense.

Agreed but

Let’s all help Tark - would be a worthy win
JD Hayworth?
Agree we need to keep the house majority.
“Trumps endorsements of Swamp Monsters have to be ignored.”
I’ll trust Trump’s instincts on this and other tough races. Clinton won Nevada, and Trump is correct to seek the best he can get rather than waste time, energy and resources to win a primary battle and lose the November war.

Couldn’t agree more. I too am very happy to see Trump at least planning for these midterms from his perspective. Much better than getting blindsided.
yes, thank you BigEd. :)
Heller is probably toast in November anyway.
Nevada has been sufficiently Californicated to turn it blue.
He said sick wife.
Looks like the Dem that will be the Senate nominee is who Tarkanian lost to in a House race in 2016 - so he wouldn’t be ideal for taking her on and holding the seat.
Heller is in serious trouble regardless - however, him winning would be good news not because of his victory so much as it means the national climate is good for the GOP and other seats would be won.
His wife is seriously ill.
It’s unfortunate as he was leading in the polls, but certainly he wouldn’t be a good man if he put political office above caring for an ill wife.
