The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that Senate Bill 4, the states so-called sanctuary cities ban, can remain the law of the land in Texas for now, stating that the cities that challenged the law will likely lose in their federal court suit.
Plaintiffs in the case include Austin and most of Texas other large cities, which sought to overturn the controversial law. It requires cities and counties to enforce detention requests placed on local jail inmates suspected of illegal immigration.

We’re in agreement there.
What bothers me the most, is that this state is one of the most special places on earth.
The potential for this state is unimaginable.
Even being as big a pig stye as it is right now politically, it’s still chugging along as the 5th or 6th global economy.
We have the option to desalinate. We have plenty of fertile land.
We could be so much more.

In the 21st century its news when the clear unambiguous language and spirit of the law is upheld. Its also news when so-called executive orders and actions by cities and states to ignore the law are overturned.

Move here as soon as you can. Thanks 2nddivVet. I'm disabled and have to get funds together but I have no more ties to this state. They're taxing us to death and forcing insane laws, rules and regs. I need cooler climate so figure some Northern state by a lake or stream but close to a town where I can get care. Probably Idaho/Montana....somewhere quiet. I'm tired of fighting the hellon the left coast.

In a post on the Mayors Facebook Page Wednesday afternoon, Rawlings said that upon advice from the City Attorneys office, they would challenge the law in court.
The City Council was briefed this afternoon in executive session regarding the lawsuit the State of Texas recently filed against various state governmental entities and officials concerning Senate Bill 4, which is known as the sanctuary cities bill, said Rawlings in the Facebook post. The bill is unconstitutional and would infringe upon the citys ability to protect public safety, he continued.
Poor Mayor Rawlings now has reality setting in...
The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that Senate Bill 4, the states so-called sanctuary cities ban, can remain the law of the land in Texas for now, stating that the cities that challenged the law will likely lose in their federal court suit.

I hate lib politics. I rebelled when I was a teen and been fighting ever since. I’m just tired of fighting because I think this state is cooked for good without a war.

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals is a conservative federal appeals court. THIS highlights the importance of Republicans supportive of Trump’s agenda being elected in November. Vote Republican on Election Day, November 6, 2018.

They’re lawless. They shouldn’t be called sanctuary cities.
