The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that Senate Bill 4, the states so-called sanctuary cities ban, can remain the law of the land in Texas for now, stating that the cities that challenged the law will likely lose in their federal court suit.
Plaintiffs in the case include Austin and most of Texas other large cities, which sought to overturn the controversial law. It requires cities and counties to enforce detention requests placed on local jail inmates suspected of illegal immigration.

Sounds about right to me.
Don’t go away mad, just go home.
The frog is boiling. Too many people in the big cities.
It’s amazing how drooling idiots be elected, then proclaim they won’t follow a law because they don’t want to.
A court upholds the rule of law? What in the hell is the world coming to?
“”””which sought to overturn the controversial law.”””
A law saying the cities must uphold current law is controversial?

“A law saying the cities must uphold current law is controversial?”
In looney liberalland it is.
Following the Law. Whod a thunk it.
Screw these big cities. I live in California and I’m angry at our state’s major cities. As far as I am concerned, anyone in a position of authority is required to abide by the laws of our nation.
Lock these Mother ——ers up!
I have zero tolerance for people who side with foreign nationals over our own citizens and nation.
Governors

Irony: Obama DOJs Immigration Suit Against AZ Laid Foundation For Trumps Suit Against CA
In 2010, then Attorney General Eric Holder sued Arizona over state law S.B. 1070
Setting immigration policy and enforcing immigration laws is a national responsibility, Holder stated at the time regarding his decision to sue Arizona over the law. Seeking to address the issue through a patchwork of state laws will only create more problems than it solves.
>The Supreme Court Agreed
Supreme Court Sides With Feds on Immigration
So it was a good day for the feds. Three of the four contested provisions of Arizonas law were invalidated outright by the Supreme Court as excessive state intrusion upon core federal immigration powers.
BOOM!! Federal court hands Trump a VICTORY on sanctuary cities in TEXAS
A federal appeals court has upheld the bulk of a Texas law targeting sanctuary cities that is backed by the Trump administration as part of a crackdown on illegal immigration.
The ruling Tuesday by a three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans allows Texas to enforce what critics call the toughest state-level immigration measure in the country.
The law allows police officers to ask people during routine stops whether theyre in the U.S. legally and threatens sheriffs with jail time for not cooperating with federal immigration authorities.
As a fellow Californian, I agree!! And would agree no matter where I live. It is just more painful here as it is my state.
Well...interesting...most of Oregon has been sanctuaried...gonna get real interesting!
