When I visited West Virginia, I noticed that they even have a chain of gas stations named after Senator Byrd: Sheetz.
Not really relevant to the thread but the “days without” signs remind me of when my ship was in drydock at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard in 1970. The big sign at the main entrance read “973 days without a fatal accident”. Later that summer at the Subic Bay Naval Shipyard the big sign read “9 days without a fatal accident”.
It takes a great degree of artistry to get the lifelike colors right on a fish mount, and poses and facial expressions on game animals and birds.
WV won’t vote for anyone that’s anti-gun and as Hillary found out anti-coal. The Manchin family needs to be put out to pasture. Gayle got on the public tit when her husband was governor. She should have been moved out before this. Here’s hoping the epinephrine price gouging will help smoke Joe out of office.
That’s funny. Sheetz is a PA corporation with limited penetration in WV. Go-Mart is the WV home stated competition with stores almost everywhere.
I thought the GOP challenger to Manchin’s sea was the current Secretary of State - Morrissey?
Switch parties, Joe.
You’re right. He is running. Blakenship must be the only one running ads. Here’s a list of all Republican challengers:
Don Blankenship, former Chairman & CEO of Massey Energy
Bo Copley, coal miner
Evan Jenkins, U.S. Representative
Patrick Morrisey, Attorney General of West Virginia
Jack Newbrough, truck driver and Navy veteran
Tom Willis, Army veteran
No point, and why would we want him ? He wouldn’t win the GOP primary.
Patrick Morrisey is the one we’re backing.
A survey conducted by Osage Research and commissioned by West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morriseys Senate campaign shows Mr. Morrisey in front at 24.1 percent. Former Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship, who spent a year in federal prison in connection with the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion in 2010, came in second at 22.6 percent, and Mr. Jenkins was third with 17.4 percent.
Thanks for the 411.
The Dems lost WVA in 2000, they just haven’t realized it yet...
It will be a slow burning death, but eventually WVA will be as red as any southern state.
