(CNN)Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee reached an opposite conclusion Monday from the intelligence community they oversee, announcing that Russian President Vladimir Putin was not trying to help Donald Trump win the 2016 election.

We also assess Putin and the Russian Government aspired to help President-elect Trump's election chances when possible by discrediting Secretary Clinton and publicly contrasting her unfavorably to him. All three agencies agree with this judgment. CIA and FBI have high confidence in this judgment; NSA has moderate confidence.

I did not know that, thanks for enlightening me. Still the credibility of these agencies has been destroyed. I believe they are totally corrupt, from top to bottom. But combined with the establishment and msm, they can pretty much do what they want. They have made it clear, if you enter leadership from the outside, you, your family and supporters will be destroyed.

I agree that the agency credibility is shot. In this case by a handful of people who "made the asssessment," then spun up a yarn implying the assessment was the product of objective review by a substantial number of qualified people.

I also agree that the institutions are corrupt. There may be a few good people in them, but I believe most of those are in for self-serving reasons - great benefits, easy work, job security. If they rat out the rot, they lose.
