Weve heard lots of assertions from the media about who Trump voters are: poorly-educated, racist, and authoritarian-leaning. Now Salon is adding to the rich stock of disdaining assumptions. The Trump-voting conservative, says the site, is a washed-up, lonely loser whose disconnect from reality and the rest of society inspired him to spite the democratic process. Might they add he cant get a girlfriend.
The clinicians over at Salon consulted a 2017 Gallup poll that stated that nearly half of U.S. states "saw their well-being scores decline by a statistically significant margin in 2017," while none of the 50 states "saw statistically significant improvement from the year before..
That includes, an increase in experiencing significant worry on any given day, a decline in reports of receiving positive energy from friends and family members, a drop in reports of liking what you do each day, and a reduction in satisfaction with standard of living (compared to peers.)
While the Gallup poll did not necessarily break down the demographics as to which which half of Americans were feeling this way, leave it to Salon to point the finger at Trump supporters. I mean, who else would be experiencing the low T required to elect our generations next Hitler?

Still not tired of the winning!
I voted for Hitler. Just kidding!
But that’s how liberals think of Trump voters. The Great Unwashed.
Losers? Trump won; I’d say that qualifies us as WINNERS!
I don’t use alcohol or use “recreational” drugs so how do you know if there is a decline in the “positive energy” you are receiving from your “friends and neighbors”. Is this some kind of wacky new age, millennial snowflake bullsh*t?
But the guys and gals running around in pussy hats are A-OK with the betas at Salon. Get real. Democrats are the losers who can’t take care of themselves and have to latch on to the teat of government to survive. Trump voters don’t have to have safe places in which to embrace victimhood.
I thought we were deplorables? Maybe they meant deplorable losers.
Salon’s side lost so doesn’t that make them the losers?
Pauline Kael, nutcake movie critic of Newsweek, in 1972 after Richard Nixon beat McGovern - “I just can’t understand how Nixon won; just everybody I know voted for McGovern”. Nixon won 61 percent of the vote, although I agree that the people Miss Kael knew on the Upper West Side of NY and Hollywood were probably not part of it.
Well, liberals have specially tuned “receptors”. Ahem!
SNOWY!
(Still Not Over Winning Yet!)
While I wouldn’t say that I’ve been giddy, Trumps triumph resulted in a lightened step and a far more hopeful attitude for me and mine. It’s the left that has been the debby-downers - there hasn’t been a more pitiful reaction to an election since 1860.
More winning!
Must be the half not part of the group which has raised consumer confidence to an almost 18 yr high.
The progressives would have us believe that only 15% of the Trump voters voted for Trump because they support racism and misogyny and the other 34% were just duped and too dumb to know any better.
They want to ferret out the 34% and reeducated them.
Still not tired of WINNING!
Funny how the gun grabbing dictator wannabes brand Trump as “authoritarian.” Pot, meet kettle.
Pauline Kael later acknowledged Nixon voters existed, thus:
“Where they are, I don’t know; they’re outside my ken. But sometimes, when I’m in the theater, I can feel them.”
She no doubt could sense evil vibes emanating from the Nixon people, alerting her to their presence.
Reading the Salon article breaks down as this: "People angry and unhappy with the current state of affairs in America voted for Trump. Trump won. Therefore, Trump voters are angry and unhappy."
Only the Left could spin this as a vindication of their policies.
