Business leaders from nearly every American industry are furious with President Trump right now.
Theyve been pressuring his administration to back off from its plan to add steep tariffs on importedsteel and aluminum, which are used to make everything from cars to boats and even soup cans.
But the president has waved off their concerns. On Thursday afternoon, Trump is expected to sign an order directing the Commerce Department to add the 25 percent levy on steel and the 10 percent levy on aluminum. He did say, however, that his administration will exempt Canada and Mexico from the tariffs for a while.
The US steel industry is quite happy about the tariffs.
Almost everyone else is upset.

It is still satirical, but the idiot author thinks she is being serious.
There are over 12,000 + specific tariffs on imports to America.
2 more will not destroy the entire economy
Wow
Do other countries have tariffs on importing US Steel?
Interesting, is it not, that journalists - who have done virtually nothing productive in their entire lives, keep imagining that they actually know things which we do not.
And the Trumpster keeps giving them peanut butter wedgies and laughing at them.
“Oh no, my Chinese (and imported-from-Vietnam Chinese) steel!”
Trump’s tariffs have further divided the CommieCrat Party into the one world globalist faction and the and the union-purchased faction.
National security concerns trump any opposition.
I’m pretty sure Trump’s whole “Tariff” thing is meant to create some kind of “Leverage” ... Real or imagined ... as a prelude to renegotiating the NAFTA trade agreement as well as other trade agreements with other nations.
Tell them to shove it. Their tax cuts will offset any increased costs due to these tariffs several times over. Their future profit picture is still far brighter than it was just a few months ago.
Very much so, but national security and having the industries necessary to defend ourselves are just as important.
Probably because almost every industry who exports is liable to retaliation for the steel and aluminum tariffs.
Maybe these haters can get bids on our tanks from China.
I’m sure the military will get a good deal.
Speaking of,
POTUS declares tariffs on Chinese steel, days later North Korea begs to talk and give up their nuclear weapons.
Coincidence I’m sure.
With free GPS tracking thrown in!
Seems like it got China’s attention. That’s worth something.

Tough shit. It’s those very same “business leaders” who have raped our country of an entire industry and people’s livelihoods in order to line their own pockets for decades.
Poor democrats have worked so hard to eliminate our capacity to build our own weapons and eqipment f we ever got attacked, now trump went and f’d it all up
Hated?
I did not know that “industry” could hate. Can turnips hate? I did not know that industry had emotions. Would that be the management of that particular industry? Or the workers? The stockholders?
I am not making a statement of the wisdom of tariffs. In general I think they amount to a VAT tax on domestic steel bought by domestic companies and so in general I oppose them.
But I am wary of anything written in the popular press because the reliability quotient is generally zero with a rounding error.
>>>Do other countries have tariffs on importing US Steel?
Steel has been determined to be vital to our national security by the Trump Administration. Wouldn’t that suggest that we should not allow it to be exported?
