TALLAHASSEE — The Florida House on Wednesday gave final approval to a bill that restricts gun sales and sets up a program to arm some teachers and other school employees. The bill is a response to the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 students and faculty dead. The final vote was 67-50. It came after an all-day debate on the measure. Democrats favored the gun control provisions in the bill – a ban on bump stocks, an increase in the minimum age to buy a rifle from 18 to 21 and a three-day waiting period for all gun sales – but object to the “guardian” program that would arm some teachers and other school staff.

These idiots deserve to lose for this travesty. There is no reason to capitulate with a series of pointless acts pushishing law abiding citizens. None. They chose to go full democrat on this so there is no reason to support them. We vote for our people to stand up for our issues. They have failed. Done with the FL GOP. Needs To be flushed and rebuilt.

The law doesn’t ban possession for those 18-21, only sale by an FFL, as is now federal law for handguns.
Gov. Scott’s problem with the bill is that it allows armed staff at the school. He doesn’t want armed staff.
My vote is twice powerful this way. They lost a vote and their opposition gains one. I normally wouldn’t do this but this arm twisting on this issue is unforgivable. The next generation of officials need to get a clear message.
I think they need to re-read the constitution and bill of rights. Disgraceful.
It is not for who served in Afghanistan quagmire. It is for the OTHER nutso high schoolers who are whack jobs like that 19 year old (?) Cruz character.
But gun control will not stop the mayhem. Only adequate armed guards and armed teachers is IMMEDIATE solution.
So you vote in Communists who will enact restrictions that are even worse?

Kids 20 and under should buy guns and go hunting without adult supervision? Seems illogical at best.
