TALLAHASSEE — The Florida House on Wednesday gave final approval to a bill that restricts gun sales and sets up a program to arm some teachers and other school employees. The bill is a response to the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 students and faculty dead. The final vote was 67-50. It came after an all-day debate on the measure. Democrats favored the gun control provisions in the bill – a ban on bump stocks, an increase in the minimum age to buy a rifle from 18 to 21 and a three-day waiting period for all gun sales – but object to the “guardian” program that would arm some teachers and other school staff.

You seem to have missed my response completely. Can a prisoner own a gun in prison? No. Where does it say in the second amendment that he can not? After he has served his time, his status as a felon remains and the ‘punishment’ continues, unless revoked. Are you advocating for violent criminals to have guns?

It is interesting that under the new law in California, you have to Cal DOJ four photos of your gun when you register it, and they won’t accept an application for a lower alone. This leads me to believe, they want to know for sure you have the other parts when the day arrives they come for them. I know a lot of people who did not register their guns.
That’s a great point. If you are mad at Scott, you vote against him in the Primary. Mobilize the vote against him. You don’t immediately jump to, “Let’s vote for Communist Bill.”
Bill Nelson immediately called for gun control before the bodies in Parkland were even cold. He voted against Justice Gorsuch. He’s fought President Trump on virtually every issue.

I’m advocating for rights to be restored when you leave whatever prison your in, a mental institution, a prison.... it does not matter, if you can walk into a gun shop or gun store you should be able to buy whatever you want, I’m still waiting to hear where it says different in the second amendment.

The bill bans 18-20 year olds from purchasing rifles or shotguns. Federal law already bans purchases by those under 18.
18-20 year olds have been banned from purchasing handguns since the Gun Control Act of 1968.
The law does not ban possession of firearms, only the purchase from an FFL.
