That’s how I feel. Just because some dudes say something doesn’t make it “gospel”. :)

Well it certainly isn’t “gospel” to me! LOL!
I was so pumped when New Horizons neared Pluto and eagerly awaited the images to be sent. Man, were they ever incredible! NO ONE expected what we saw. I’ve saved a lot of images from the NH web site and still check in occasionally to see what’s going on.

Dad got me interested in space when I was very young and I’ve never lost that interest. I’ve followed several of the space probe programs over the years and New Horizons was one of them. I’d almost forgotten about it because it took so long to get out there. When I saw an article about it being just a few months away, I let Dad know so he could start keeping tabs too.
Sadly, he never got to see any of the images. He died just a month before the first blurry images started coming in. I wish he could have seen how beautiful it is because he never stopped considering it a planet either. And Charon looks a lot like our moon.

Man! I’m so sorry your Dad didn’t get to celebrate them passing Pluto with you, but I guess he might have gotten to see it up close and personal...maybe....
Did you watch the Space X last month? I had to laugh at the guy putting his car in the front of the spaceship. LOL!

but I guess he might have gotten to see it up close and personal...maybe That's what his widow said. Really can't call her step-mother because she had nothing to do with raising me. They married only a couple of years before Hubby and I did.
But we stay in touch.
It still hurts that we couldn't share the experience together. I still feel little pangs whenever I see pix of Pluto. It was a mission that excited him.
I didn't get to watch the Space X launch 'live' but did check it out later that day. It was pretty crazy sending that car up!
