Less than a month after a school shooting that killed 17 people, several celebrities are reportedly planning to use the Oscars as a platform to raise awareness for gun control.
People magazine reports that a group of A-listers will don orange pins from Everytown for Gun Safety, a nonprofit organization that advocates for gun control and works to reduce gun violence.
Orange is the unofficial color that has come to be associated with various gun-control causes. Everytown sells orange American flag pins on its website, but it's not immediately clear if those are the exact pins that will be worn during the demonstration.

Time was Harvey Weinstein pressured actresses to wear his wife’s dress designs to these award shows (and later she claimed SHE was a victim!).

And when they get together to congratulate each other and virtue-signal to the (m)asses, they manage to concentrate that unimportance into a metaphorical "black hole" from which no give-a-damn of mine escapes.
I enjoy those moments when someone asks me if I saw a movie or television show and I tell them, "No. I gave up on pop culture a couple years ago." I am not rude or cruel about it, but increasingly I drily tell people that I have no idea who entertainer/performer/impressario "X" is, that I haven't seen - or heard, if it involves music - "Y," and that "Z" does not strike me as something worth contemplation.
This one looks "advanced"
This one looks traditional
Nah. If they REALLY cared, they’d suspend any and all entertainment production involving firearm violence in any form for a year. And pull any current releases for the same time frame. Come on hippos, pony up. No? Figures.
The Oscars and their award ceremony are no longer meaningful. They are only a public echo chamber for mind dead liberals.
Even when I didn’t care for the movies, I’d watch for the retrospective of who’d passed in the previous year and other details.
But haven’t watched it in many years and scarcely watch television in the past decade.

Disney would NEVER make their gun play filled action films like the Avengers and Captain America off limits to kids under 18 (or 21), let alone restricting them from 11 year olds

And for good measure they even show vehicles being used as violent assault weapons
Placating the idiocy and shallowness of their adoring fans who will take this and eat it without question. Now this is mental illness!
Are these Hollyweird f—ktards going to give up their private, armed security? Hell no!
Should say NRA member.
Orange pins are a cultural appropriation from the Dutch.
I’m offended!
Seriously it seems like they just ran out of colors.
Cars and trucks are okay since they aren’t “designed” to kill mass quantities of folks. Then again gas cans aren’t either. Or 5 gallon propane tanks. Or pressure cookers. When’s the last time you saw a movie theater keep kids out of an “R” rated movie?
And I suppose they will announce that any movie with a gun will be banned from receiving an award.
How queer that they didn’t respond likewise when workers were slaughtered at the company Christmas party by an Islamic jihadist couple in a hate crime?!!
