Trump is trying to win over moderates and independents. He can’t win re-election with only a conservative base.

While the Democrats are competing amongst themselves who can be on the Far Left, Trump like Bill Clinton, is successfully triangulating. He’s winning over the middle.

The latest war against gun owners (why were music fans in Las Vegas considered expendable compared to high school students in Florida?) is class warfare, pure & simple. The Left hates gun rights because they get in the way of the Agenda.

And Donald Trump gets in the way of everything they seek to impose on the rest of us. Massive LEA incompetence caused the horror in Parkland, yet the NRA is the target and we’re supposed to turn in our guns.

Democrats are full of anger and anxious for payback. We’ll see what shakes out in 2018, but I think Democrats are going to come out in droves. I know some of them and they are loaded for bear. I know some who even went to that pussycat hat march in DC.

I also know many people who voted for Trump who are turned off by his arrogant buffoonish behavior.

Flame away, but those are my observations within my circle of friends - and I live in a conservative country.

The Democrats will turn even more leftist and try to run on a hate Trump platform. Just look at the electoral map from 2016. Hillary carried the left coasts and a few liberal bastions in the south and Midwest. The rest of the country rejected her. Do they really believe that turning even more left will attract the normal people on flyover country?

A pont here that I think really needs to be made.

In recent days Trump offered up a deal to keep DACA immigrants in the USA. Conservatives weren’t happy. But Trump won over some immigrants.

Then he offered up multiple gun control measures. Conservatives weren’t happy. But Trump won over suburban moms.

Then he offered up trade tariffs on China. Conservatives and Wall Street went on the warpath. But Trump won over working class Americans.

President Trump has offered all these things, but so far, the left hasn't taken him up on any of them. As long as they refuse to deal, Trump wins, we win, and the country wins.

Because offering something up is not the same as actually dealing it.
