The Talk Shows
March 4th, 2018
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): White House trade adviser Peter Navarro; Business Roundtable President Joshua Bolten.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross; Sen. Anus King, I-Maine.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Navarro; Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.; Andrew Pollack, father of student killed in Florida school shooting.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Ross; Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn.; former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Navarro; Manchin; Gov. John Kasich, R-Ohio.
I encourage all to re-engage with the oft forgotten CBS. Face the Nation. New host Margaret Brennan has been superior to all the agenda driven others. She’s concise, asks the right questions, and allows contrarian thought, as evidenced this morning with Mr. Pollack.
Doesn’t the shipping country have to pay the tariff? If China or Korea sends us steel with a 25% tariff, doesn’t Korea have to pay an additional 25% tax?
Can Wallace learn something? He already knows before the answer is given. He is the liberal Professor with every guest. He has a well-established pattern. Most of us here are objective, listening, watching body language, sincerely trying to learn something new. Sometimes an old dog can not learn a new trick! Wallace himself would never be “power player of the week.”
Now that you mention it, Miller comes from Session’s Senate staff....long-time associates and certainly part of the reason this 3-some hooked up.

I think on another front some mistake Trumps lust for peace with the Russians for weakness in dealing with Trump.President Trump is anything but weak.If Putin pushes him too far Donald trump will kick his ass. There is no question about it.
................
Sharyll now talking about more religion in rock music. Ironically, I watched the pbs special on du wop rock and roll last night which is now being performed more and more by 20 something kids who also love the music since they heard it from their grandparents!!
I am a contrarian.
Most folks equate that with grumpy old white guy.
That interrogation of Navarro should be an embarrassment. Unfortunately, mediots are incapable of self awareness and criticism. That was disgusting and would not let him answer a single so called question/accusation.
There is a strong legal argument that Sessions did not need to recuse. The strictest interpretation of Sessions "meeting with" Russians was applied. Gentlemen Jeff, wishing to do the very most proper thing, play by all the rules, wanting to remove any and all suspicion, chose to recuse.
If it was a setup, Sessions wasn't in on it. I assumed that was you're contention. Maybe so within the Obama DoJ. Is that your contention ?
I grew up with soul music, which for me is spiritual music. I cannot listen to pop music today. The music awakened great passion in relationships. Something is missing in today’s music. Jazz is great! Isn’t it funny, when we are thinking about something, it comes up somewhere again within a day!
I’ve posted at #89 how Sessions came to recuse, but you might have better insights than I.
I watched the PBS special on the rolling stones LOL
Charlie and Keef are amazing! Mick used to live around when he was married to Jerry Hall.
You might run into him the grocery store, but rural Tx did not suit him.
Ron Wood and whos his name.. I have no use for.
Mick Taylor was OK
This thread helps me to get a feel for the pulse of politics right now. It is the same ole song and dance by the media each week. It is unique when someone actually breaks through the liberal shields, guarded by the Democrat order. It is almost like they take an oath to protect the liberal flag.
F Chuck “what does that mean” Chuck it means we aint showing our cards
SSDD
Ummm, no. The recusal does not depend on "Russians" or on any relationship Sessions may or may not have with "Russians."
The press narrative spun up around Sessions' various recusals, the appoiintment of Mueller, and pretty much everything else is FALSE.
On Sessions' recusal from investigating the Trump campaign, that is based on conflict of interest regulations in force in the DOJ.
DOJ-Specific Conflict of Interest Regulation: No DOJ employee may participate in a criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution, or who would be directly affected by the outcome. 28 CFR 45.2Political relationship means a close identification with an elected official, candidate, political party or campaign organization arising from service as a principal advisor or official; personal relationship means a close and substantial connection of the type normally viewed as likely to induce partiality.
If the DOJ ws investigating the Trump campaign for ANY crime, the conflict of interest regulations call for Sessions to recuse himself from the case.
Common sense tells you the same thing. If the shoe was on the other foot, would you trust Holder to investigate the Obama campaign for encouraging foreign donations by deliberately failing to ask the address associated with credit card?
F Chuck you nipplehead! read between the lines!
Mr Trump reserves the right to maintain our ability to make steel and aluminum without begging a supply from our potential enemies.
I'm writing him off in favor of Sharyll.
Same with F.Chuck. He has the same ol' libs on week after week,it's pathetic. This weeks chatting point: White House built on chaos which is ironic since the cabal who these guys work for all strive for worldwide chaos!!It's their overall goal.
I'm going to watch the "Money Honey" Maria Bartiromo on her great show Sunday Morning Futures nowon FNC, with Wilbur Ross.
Ross is a brilliant guy explaining away the tariff non-issue.Steel tariff is 1/2 % of a penny on a can of beer, 1/2-3/4% of one percent on cars,it's little or nothing. Its all BS. Wilbur says Republicans have historically been a free trade party are they still?
Ross:'we have a huge trade deficit, has to be addressed,we used to have trade surpluses now huge deficits.' China and Europe talk free trade but play protectionism with high tariffs. Ross is brilliant. Ross: Trump won't take a bad deal. He doesn't have to. historically we had a trade surplus with Mexico now we have a trillion dollars deficit with them............
and(I would add) that doesn't even begin to include the drug trade....
Trey gowdy on now.
Canada will not be cut out.
Great post,it does need reform we talk about it all the time.
