President Trump proved he actually does have a sense of humor about himself by joking at Saturday nights annual Gridiron Club dinner in Washington about a meeting with Kim Jong-un. Trump said hed talk with Kim, but the North Korean dictator would be facing the risk of dealing with a madman. Trump began his remarks by saying it was an honor to be at the dinner, and telling the audience of journalists that theyre really quality people. Then he went for laughs.
Another calm week at the White House, he said, we finally have it running like a fine-tuned machine. He also joked about family members working in his administration. Trump said he was late to the dinner, because his son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner, whose security level was downgraded recently, couldnt get through security.

The left has no idea how to handle him. He has defied every one of their stereotype brands.
At lease his writer does.
Donald’s reality show was an award winner for years. He’s very quick and has a great sense of timing. His tweets are weaponized. He goes off teleprompter all the time at rallies and events like CPAC.
He may have written his speech himself. I’m pretty certain he could do extemp stand up if he wanted to.
You make that sound like a bad thing. I've written for a living since I was 19; that's almost sixty years. Creative people are part of society and smart people like President Trump take advantage of that fact.
Wow, what news! I guess no one knew what he was like before this article.
“shows” he has a sense of humor?! He shows it everyday. The way he handles libs cracks me up!
well he skipped the WHCD and his 2 SNL gigs were so long ago.
What’s with the Post? They know he has a sense of humor- he’s only been on their scene for what? 40 years?
He’s the funniest president of my lifetime. One of the reasons I voted for him. Even the British Spectator has praised his sense of humor.
And in all that I don't remember him telling a joke or laughing. I honestly don't think Trump has a sense of humor at all. I've met a number of crazy smart people who don't have a clue of what humor is. My brother-in-law is a world-class anesthesiologist and a terrific guy. But try telling him a joke, any kind of joke, and you get a blank stare. I think Trump is the same kind of person.
Trump has the most wicked sense of humour of any politician I can think of.

Yes. And it ALWAYS goes right over the left’s teeny little heads (like his comment that the Russians should look for Hillary’s e-mail . . . those idiots took it seriously!).
Your definition of sense of humor must be different from mine.
He is not only the funniest President as far as I know, Reagan was funny too, but Trump is one of the funniest Persons.
He has a great sense of humor and better yet, the ability to laugh at himself....
He has the best quips of any President we have had. He has an amazing sense of humor if you look for it.
President Trump’s sense of humor is not the kind that tells jokes. He shocks us into laughter by saying things that are truthful but not usually said, in a way that gives many people the sense he is reading their minds and saying things that they are not free to say.
“There is a lot of research out there—I found over 4,000 articles, peer-reviewed journal articles, on the psychology of humor—but it hardly ever gets mentioned in textbooks or scholarly books,” Martin says.
What these studies are adding up to is the idea that incongruity—when an idea or an object is out of place—is the heart of humor, Martin says. Truth plays an important role as well: The juxtaposition of the two things often gives people a new insight into a familiar situation, he notes. In fact, much of the enjoyment of humor may come from seeing familiar situations with new eyes.

This is not the only way that President Trump is funny. He also is an excellent raconteur, and uses exaggeration to good effect, drawing us in to being amused at his larger than life portrayal of the world.
He is fluid, changing from tooting his accomplishment to stepping back and saying in a more serious vein that the movement is Americans, the real heroes are the police, military & rescue personnel. He strips away the Emperor’s Cloak (many different “Emperors”) and calls down judgement upon their actions with humor as a chaser.
Trump’s top jokes from the Gridiron dinner
“Trump began his remarks by saying it was an honor to be at the dinner, and telling the audience of journalists that theyre really quality people. Then he went for laughs.”
I like the author’s sense of humor. “Then” Bwahahaha.
