BISMARCK, N.D. - The first of what is expected to be many polls looking at the U.S. Senate candidates for North Dakota was released Tuesday, showing incumbent Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., with a narrow lead over Rep. Kevin Cramer, R, N.D.
Heitkamp leads Cramer 43 to 40 with 17 percent of voters still undecided, which is unsurprising as the election is still months away.
The poll was conducted online by Gravis Marketing with 385 respondents and a margin of error of 5 percentage points. Heitkamp trails among Trump supporters by a wide margin but has a lead among white voters. Cramer has a tight with older voters.
I think North Dakota is a key state if the Democrats are going to win the Senate this year they have to win North Dakota. It's a state that many think that the Republicans will pick up based on how Trump formed in North Dakota, said Doug Kaplan, Gravis Marketing.
The poll also looked at the House race which shows Tom Campbell leading the pack at 28 percent of voters. Kelly Armstrong is in second with 13 percent, but nearly half of voters are undecided.
We NEED more Senators who side with the citizens and the rule of law.
Currently there are just FOUR.
This guy could be # 5.
Not bad but we’re losing this country. We need a better strategy to defeat illegal immigration. I believe the American people overwhelmingly oppose illegals.
23 dems up for re-election, including many in states Trump won.
Two “independents” up for re-election....Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Angus King of Maine....two liberals who caucus with the RATS.
Only eight Republicans up for re-election in the Senate this year.
The math is against the RATS this election cycle.
Hmmmm.... So how did Heidi vote on the very popular tax cut bill? Oh, she’s a Democrat so that must mean she voted...NO!
Gravis not reliable. Love to see PPD poll ND.
Bet Gravis is using 2012 voter reg #s.
I think youre incorrect. The genius who leads the Republicans in the Senate predicted last week that wed lose seats in the Senate. The stupid is strong in him, you see.
As a rule of thumb, any margin of error at five percent and above and the poll should be jettisoned.
And, I do believe we get this seat.
Trump’s visits and rallies in various states are going to have an enormous effect.
Democrats spend big bucks attacking the likes of Graham in South Carolina. I’ve seen billboards and radio ads. Has the GOP been going against the likes of Heitcamp? No. If the Dems pull it out in November it will simply be because they want to win more than the GOP does.
Heitkamp is a good campaigner, but anti-gun nonsense and the rabid Leftism of the dems will help Kramer, who is not.
“Heitkamp trails among Trump supporters by a wide margin but has a lead among white voters”
This is statistically impossible, as virtually everyone in ND is white.
If I was on a visit to Washington and Mitch McConnell told me it was raining outside, I would go outdoors and check for myself.
Mitch was too comfortable being the minority leader.
| This far out it doesn't really indicate much. But I agree that this is one of the most winnable Senate seats currently held by the Democrats. However it isn't going to be easy and is going to go down to the wire. But in Cramer the GOP has the best candidate for the job.
Never underestimate the GOP's ability to screw things up.
Is Graham up for reelection this cycle?
With so much apath from Republican viters, I dont see how they hold congress. The House will go easily to the Rats and I think the Rats hold all their seats in the Senate and pick up AZ and NV for the majority.
