Principal Shannon Daniels, 52, formerly Tom Daniels, announced three weeks ago that they’re transgender and would be presenting as female going forward.
Daniels, a Swampscott resident, who became the school’s principal in 2012, identifies as both male and female and prefers “they/them” pronouns for a gender-fluid identity, but plans to become fully transitioned to female.
“Principal Daniels is on a temporary leave of absence,” wrote Superintendent Pamela Angelakis and Swampscott Police Chief Ronald Madigan in a correspondence to Stanley families. The email was shared with The Item by a Swampscott resident who wishes to remain anonymous. There is also a police presence at the school this week.
The correspondence reads that the school district’s director of curriculum and instruction Anne Marie Condike was at the Stanley School on Monday and Angelakis will be at the school Tuesday.
According to the superintendent’s office, Daniels was not at school on Monday and will not be at Stanley Tuesday. The principal will be in on Wednesday to meet with Angelakis. The circumstances regarding the leave or its length was not clarified, but the superintendent’s office stated the leave was not a suspension and Daniels is off for a couple of days.
Daniels said they couldn’t comment.
“You will also see a police presence,” Angelakis and Madigan wrote in the correspondence. “While no credible threats have been received, we see this response as an abundance of caution for our school community. We look forward to getting back to normal.”

Swampscott is on the north shore of Massachusetts and it is a somewhat swanky ocean town. It is next to Lynn the city of sin, and Salem, also known as Witch City.
Swampscott is also the hometown of our RINO nevertrump Governor Charlie Baker....or Charlie Faker as i prefer to call him.
Swampscott is next to Lynn, NE of Boston..on the coast.Famed natives or residents have included David Lee Roth, Lesley Stahl, Walter Brennan, Charlie Baker (RINO MA gov) and Fran Sheehan and Barry Goudreau of the band Boston. Fairly affluent.
There still are just two sexes.
What I think you really long for is a return to the days when there weren’t so many mentally ill people who couldn’t understand that.

Maybe if they would spend money on putting in a fourth and fifth gender bathroom in the school the Principal would show up.
The left loves bringing up Stormy Daniels, maybe she could come in replacing this Principal and they would still have a Principal Daniels, problem solved.
I had an appointment with my Urologist yesterday, and as a joke, thought about telling him that I was identifying as a male that day, and have him check my prostrate. I only see him once a year, so am not that familiar with his personality, and decided not to try it on him.
We think the snowflakes are tough to deal with. Wait till these poor kids come of age.

What wo/man would let their hair look like that??? s/he should wear a wig with that getup. If s/he was serious about being a woman, then would not appearances be extremely important? This is just flaunting mental illness.
