The interesting thing about this particular event is that it is a posterchild for why we need to get rid of “gun free” zones.

So when all the students were running out of the building, did he still think the shooting wasn’t taking place inside? Nothing he witnessed as the situation unfolded or anyone may have said when he encountered them coming outside suggested or even remotely indicated an active shooter was inside? Really? Really?

Of course!
One always seeks cover when one hears firecrackers, so that he can clean out his pampers.

Yeah, except the affidavit says the school monitor saw him go into a building and radioed that out.

Another article hinting there are multiple shooters. First the cheerleader. Next the teacher who saw the perp in metal armor. Now someone is found outside and article hints at shooters. Interesting.

How about for not stopping Cruz before he entered the building?

"The school resource officer was behind a stairwell wall just standing there, and he had his gun drawn. And he was just pointing it at the building," said student Brandon Huff of Peterson. "And you could shots started going off inside. You could hear them going off over and over."
This is from a different article and is eyewitness testimony. So after hearing this, my question is if you thought the shots were coming from outside the school, why were you facing the building and pointing your gun at the building Mr. Peterson?

This POS is what he says he is not. I hope he lives the rest of his days like all of the other cowards, even the ones who did nothing to prevent, in guilt and shame (rather hard for a libtard).

If you don’t know where the shooting is coming from, you do take cover, observe, determine the next cover, move to it, and repeat until you find the shooter or he finds you. This guy apparently took cover and stayed put.

[He] heard gunshots but believed those gunshots were originating from outside of the buildings on the school campus, Shouldn't he have sought shelter *inside* the building, then?

He hears rounds going off, sees people running for their lives out of building #12, but he thinks the shooter is outside?

As a society we have no shame anymore. 50 years ago this guy would have been shamed by the locals for it protecting the kids. Its why scared men bravely fought on D-Day, Antietam, and Bunker Hill. Its why first responders ran into the towers on 9/11. And a coach protected students by shielding then from rounds at Parllamd. These men were frightened as they should be, but the people back home counted on them to do their job and there was no turning back. Those men were honorable, this deputy....I cant really speak to his behavior.
To: conservative98
My theory is they were guarding the doors to prevent people from going in. The guy states, that he thought the shooter was outside. You would think somebody would have told him on the radio the correct situation? Incompetence at best, purposefully mislead at worst.
