The announcements by MetLife and Symantec mean four companies have cut ties with the NRA this week. On Thursday, First National Bank of Omaha and Enterprise Rent-A-Car cut ties with the NRA as well. The First National Bank of Omaha announced that it would no longer offer NRA Visa Cards and Enterprise Rent-A-Car announced it would no longer offer discounts to NRA members.

My eldest daughter is a management trainee at Enterprise, I have already told her what to expect, she said they got boycotted because of the NRA support, now because of turning against them - saif they are a 20.8 bol. company - I don’t think she realizes just how much this will hurt them vs. twitter-bot noise.
Deep State, the uniparty. Whatever you want to call it. And not just at the federal level. Id look at states, too. Have any of these companies, for example, recently received any tax breaks/incentives/relief/contracts from any state whose officials have an axe to grind? Since money is fungible, might take some green eyeshade types to find the trail, but follow the money.
Excellent points!
The possibilities are endless. And I doubt the perps will be blatant about it. Quid pro quos could come in the form of some bureaucrats turning a blind eye, some little piece of legislation stuck into a huge bill. Some state giving something similar instead of Fedzilla. And if this plan to stick it to the NRA has been sitting on the shelf for a while, the bribes could have been worked out then.
Eff em....
I re upped my nra membership today. To hell with haters, if they want to threaten to execute NRA members they can make the threat to my face, should they possess the requisite courage.
Eh, where did you come up with 325 million non members? Isn’t that the total population of US? Residents (including non-citizens)?
I believe there are approx. 200 million registered voters—of which a fairly small number actually vote.
Just sayin...
This is totally insane!
Every one of these companies will reverse their policies once this cools down and the complaints result in Customer Satisfaction SLA’s being breached.
THESE are the days to soldier up and be strong enough to HARDEN a black list. Boycott or Bust. NEVER AGAIN.
Hope all is well with you and yours :)

“I wonder if anyone from Congress and/or Fedzilla promised any companies bailing some federal largesse, like some nice, fat govt contracts...”
If anything, Trump’s Dept of Commerce should start looking at renegotiating (re cancelling) contracts.
I just renewed my membership for five years.
I wish their “valued partners” would stop calling me, but hey - you have to draw the line somewhere.
” can’t think of the Right ever doing that so efficiently.”
Ever been to ChikFilA? When conservatives get their collective $hit together it a an awesome sight to behold. Problem is we don’t really have grassroots leaders. We don’t use slogans, we don’t have someone to bankroll us.
And we have jobs.
Think it's a bit higher now, but your point is well taken. One heck of a lot of Americans agree with NRA positions. Nearly 50% of households own a firearm. Things like banning semi-automatics, that's really what the assault weapon nonsense is about, they get it. It threatens dad's 1911 in the closet too. Some dems, Bill Clinton comes to mind, understand that. Radical gun grabbers don't. Because of the seriousness of the issue, 5 million translates to more votes than AARPs near 40 million.
“Companies arent doing this gratis. Someone has made them offers they cant/wont refuse.”
Not really. They are banking on the left becoming new customers. It’s a silly way to get business, especially after the NFL did it. And we all saw what happened there.
You're right. I don't think I've ever used an NRA discount. AAA and senior, that's about it. The headline is dishonest, this isn't severing ties. But I will call a few like Hertz that I do patronize and let them know I don't appreciate the politicizing my patronage.
Good news for Hertz Budget and Avis””
They joined Enterprise today.
Going to be hard to find a rental car when I go to look for a new property later this spring.
Alinsky’s rule #13...
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
Has anyone started an ongoing list? It would help to know which companies to honor and which ones to ostracize.
Nice work, demkicker! Blowback is perhaps sometimes more powerful than the ban.
I use Avast that is a bit bloatware-ish and I guess I’ll renew it in a few days when it comes due.
