He just destroyed his chance to beat Bill Nelson. Hopefully, Florida Republicans will nominate someone who is serious about school safety and protecting constitutional rights. If they nominate Scott they will not flip that seat.

Maybe the Democrats will finally be happy if there is a bill to force all Republicans to die.

Might as well be. If they try this, that's when the real blood bath will start.

Yep! Florida just recently received 100,000 Puerto Rican’s. Florida is not in good shape for republicans after that especially since majority went to central Florida. The I-4 corridor....ugh!!!! It’s a shame a hurricane and a shooting has changed Florida forever.

Can’t help but wonder, though, if we’re reacting without knowing enough. Are there specifics about when firearms should be confiscated (real evidence and/or credible testimony from more than one that someone is dangerous), and are the court orders temporary? Are there well defined limits with respect to the Second Amendment?

I mean, in early America, there were the rare retards and maniacs who weren’t allowed to have firearms. The problem now is legislating common sense in a society that is lacking in the common sense of lucid, drug-free generations past.

Might be worth looking into. Can’t trust only one claim from one publication.

What’s the worst that will happen? 21 to buy an AR-15 and harder background checks? Not the end of the world. I’m voting for him regardless. He’s a vote for judges my 1 and only priority right now.

I think I acknowledged he's been a good Gov. and I REALLY want him to kick Nelson's butt out of office. Still, This is a slippery slope and if you give in to the Libs, it just encourages them to keep pressing for more.

Fake news?

I don’t think so—research is your friend...just because don’t like the action does not mean it is BS:

https://www.flgov.com/2018/02/23/gov-scott-announces-major-action-plan-to-keep-florida-students-safe-following-tragic-parkland-shooting/

From the statement:

First, on guns:

I want to make it virtually impossible for anyone who has mental issues to use a gun. I want to make it virtually impossible for anyone who is a danger to themselves or others to use a gun.

I want to create a new program in Florida – I call it the Violent Threat Restraining Order. This concept is very simple, and very common sense in my view.

This will allow a court to prohibit a violent or mentally ill person from purchasing or possessing a firearm or any other weapon when either a family member, community welfare expert or law enforcement officer files a sworn request, and presents evidence to the court of a threat of violence involving firearms or other weapons. There would be speedy due process for the accused and any fraudulent or false statements would face criminal penalties.

What is worst that will happen?

For one thing, upping the age of purchase for AR-15 will not keep the children any safer.

So disappointed in Scott and Bondi. They’re a couple of “climber” RINOs. Hard to see my way to voting for Scott when he runs for Senate.

One thing that frustrates me to no end is why nobody yells that Columbine happened during the automatic gun ban. Why???????? Why the silence on this?????

Fake news deals with fake headlines.

The Gov. isn't ordering gun confiscation from law abiding citizens, as the headline implied.

Fake News? Eh I guess we just will have to disagree...

Fake headlines? that is a matter of opinion/interpretation. When I read that the governor will prevent someone from possessing a firearm, he will have to confiscate it if the firearm is in possession of the person.

From the Office of Governor:

“I want to make it virtually impossible for anyone who has mental issues to use a gun.

There would be speedy due process for the accused and any fraudulent or false statements would face criminal penalties.”

I am not sure what you interpret the ruling to mean, but if he is keeping someone from possessing a firearm, will involve confiscation, and this action can be initiated by a family member.

**As per Cambridge Dictionary: Confiscate definition, meaning, what is confiscate: to take a possession away from someone when you have the right to do so, usually as a…

This narrative is getting so tiresome and it has only been a few days. The President did not just suggest indiscriminately “giving guns to teachers” - he suggested having trained, armed security personnel - who happen to be teachers in the schools already.
