If that “resignation” saved a pension, he should be charged, convicted, fired and lose any benefits.

This klown will be responsible for more restrictive gun legislation.

Maybe that was the idea all along.

1. Antigunners put a loser in this position and let another loser shoot up the school
2. Hue and cry about more gun banning
3. Weakling politicians succumb to the pressue
4. Voila! The plan worked!

People - pls read the article:

On Thursday, Israel focused much of his press conference on the school resource officer stationed at the campus, Scot Peterson, who chose to resign after he was suspended without pay. Peterson’s decision was made after investigators reviewed surveillance footage of the Parkland shooting.

...

A review of surveillance video showed that the deputy was in position and armed but never entered the building. He remained stationed outside the building while the shooting went on.

And, BTW, when is Broward Sheriff Scott Israel resigning? And the school superintendent, school board, and principal? And the FBI management?

Mara Liasson on Fox a few minutes ago: “A good guy with a gun was outside and a bad guy with a gun was inside and the good guy with the gun didn’t stop the bad guy with the gun” - right, Mara, like the Air Force with the information didn’t report the bad guy who had been involved in domestic abuse and so the background check didn’t stop him from getting the gun with which he murdered dozens in the church - the best system in the world isn’t foolproof if some fool fails to do what he’s responsible to do......

According to Israel, Peterson remained outside Building 12 for about four minutes. The shooting lasted about six minutes, he said. When the shooting began the deputy was inside the school handling a matter with a female student.

A review of surveillance video showed that the deputy was in position and armed but never entered the building. He remained stationed outside the building while the shooting went on.

Israel said Peterson should have “Went in. Addressed the killer. Killed the killer.”

He said the video was part of the investigation and Israel said it may never be released.

Why would the video never be released? Coverup.

I can understand not wanting to be killed by a psychopath before you get to retire, but he obviously wasn’t planning on retiring until he got suspended. He may be alive, but he’ll be living with the fact that he failed to do his job for the rest of his life, and it cost people their lives. Hope he enjoys being snubbed by the community, and the people he worked with.

Then Why did he become a cop and take a gun to his job everyday.

Your job in life is to run into danger as everyone else runs away....

When I make the statement that back before LEO needed ‘college’, and when people were turned down - NO questions asked for being too small, too fat, too tall or basically unqualified for any number of reasons you would NEVER have a whole squad of Cops sit in place while awaiting orders to enter a building.

Right, Wrong or indifferent, when I was in school cops would have stormed the school and not sit out there while carnage was taking place seconds away.

Granted when I started school WWII was just winding down and as I got older, the majority of cops were vets who were ‘combat trained’ ..

When I got out of the Navy at 6’ 148 lbs, My local State Police recruiter started by thanking me and suggested I go work out, put some weight on and apply for a ‘local’ PD and then, only when my height and weight were proportional come back and see him.

That was in VA in 1964 and when a VA State Policeman arrived on the scene one was overly impressed with these tall, young MEN looking sharp in their uniforms.

Sorry folks, when LEO arrives on the scene you want someone who can ‘take charge’, not someone that a person of average height and weight looks over to see if he can take the LEO.

This explains it.

Image result for this school is a gun free zone

This is why that amred guard failed to rush in. He didn't want to break any laws.

Does this mean the People who were blaming Senator Rubio for the deaths of their Children at last nights CNN Blame Republicans Rally will be apologizing to him and Dana as well?

Reminded me a Brown Shirts Rally blaming the Jews for all of Germany’s problems in the late 1930’s...

Failure of the officer to engage the shooter can be understood once you understand that the number one goal of the police is to go home without a scratch at the end of your shift. Using a handgun against a guy with an AR15 is not the best way to do that.

Unless you were in this mans shoes, don’t criticize. I remember getting very rudimentary active shooter training when I was a cop. The powers that be wanted cops who responded first at scene, to go in and become human targets for the shooter or shooters. We were told it didn’t matter that we were armed with only our service weapon, while the bad guys are all gunned up. Go in,get shot, keep the civilians happy that a cop got shot too!!
