One week after a mass shooter Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 people inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, Broward's top cop on Thursday revealed a stunning series of failures by the sheriffs department.
A school campus cop heard the gunfire, rushed to the building but never went inside instead waiting outside for another four agonizing minutes as Cruz continued the slaughter.

And no doubt the sheriff and FBI have known this from Day 1 yet allowed all the demonstrations and gun control hysteria and celebrity involvement to go on and percolate.
They WANT you crying and screaming for gun control. They NEED you crying and screaming for gun control.
Did you order that ____________________________? Did you order that ____________________________?
H3ll yes, I ordered it.
(paraphrase)
The Sheriff says they may never disclose the video. WTF?
Sounds like Las Vegas.
Compare that to the actions of the DC cops during the Scalise shooting.
Thinking of teachers and gun training: Wouldn’t it be ironic if teachers with gun training who carried, triggered an interest in shooting among school kids? Maybe leading to school shooting clubs becoming a thing again?
DC SWAT went to Pelosi’s house FIRST before the baseball field. Makes you think they were waiting to see if the guy was going to round 3rd base faster or something.
“Certainly dead, nevertheless.”
No, there are a number of strategies that would have a non-zero chance of giving you the first shot.
Try to get behind him. Shoot around a corner down at ground level. Et cetera.
They don’t want you to see the deputy trying to get his bullet out of his shirt pocket
That's where I've gone. Some of the kids need to self select to carry. It's sad, but it seems to be the only way.
great points and I’m not trying start anything, but I would thijnk the cop had an element of surprise.I
We need more people like this to protect kids?
Exactly. They would do so because they had no choice. That cop did have a choice, he chose not to.
Stupid comment. It is not a battle of guns, but of combatants. Who has the experience and training? Who has the element of surprise? Was Cruz willing to fight to the death? He threw away his gun and pretended to be a student, which is how he escaped from the school. What would have been his response if someone started firing back at him?
We will never know the answers because someone who was trained and paid to defend the school and the children ran away. There is no defending such cowardice. There needs to be consequences. I have no pity for him.
And they want us to give up our weapons and let the authorities protect us? Just proves one of the many reasons why we should never allow them to take our guns away.
Have you ever served in the military? You don't know sh*t from shinola.
Good idea. There is no shortage of recent historical examples to evaluate for future defenses.
Certainly not enough of that happening. The FIB are dead on their arse in that regard.
Certainly dead, nevertheless.
“No, there are a number of strategies that would have a non-zero chance of giving you the first shot.
Try to get behind him. Shoot around a corner down at ground level. Et cetera.”
And a whole lot more just to distract the shooter would have saved lives. Not a lot of critical thinking by some on this thread.
Tactics and surprise. These are not 100 yard engagements inside a school. And the cop was paid to do this. The thousand days where nothing happened was not why he was there.
Good point .....
