Concord University in West Virginia and Clemson University in South Carolina were both founded shortly after the Civil War. During the 20th century, each grew rapidly. Now, the two public universities that sit just 300 miles apart face very different circumstances.

Globalism has caused a steady decline in the standard of living and is pushing the USA towards socialism. This is the big picture problem. Higher education is a symptom.

Those token jobs aren’t as damaging because they still have to hire a real worker to do the real worker; I’ve never seen a token take a job from a real worker. If a token takes someone’s job, it wasn’t a critical position - third-rate performance is obviously acceptable.

STEM jobs are safe from such reverse discrimination; you can’t fake them. This push to fill these fields with women is failing because when they see what is required (both in the schooling and on the job), most of them pass - even when offered a free ride to boost the numbers. They’ve been 60% of college classes for many years now (so opportunity isn’t the issue); they just don’t want it. Easier to be a teacher or a boss’s side piece somewhere, I guess.

Notre Dame isn’t Catholic anymore. Brandeis was never actually Jewish and is increasingly anti-Israel.
