It was a tally so impressive that President Donald Trump touted it at his State of the Union address: Since May, agents cracking down on the violent gangs terrorizing the working-class suburbs of Long Island had swept up 428 gang suspects, including 220 members of the notorious MS-13.

But the sweep, Operation Matador, also has been shrouded in secrecy. Federal and state authorities have declined repeated requests from The Associated Press for even basic information made public in most law enforcement operations, such as the names of those arrested and the crimes they are accused of committing.

The liberals want to take the guns away from American citizens but allow MS-13 terrorists to remain in our country. Go figure.

This is a good tactic. Don’t let the thugs see their names in the paper or give them any press. Quietly remove them from the population.

I wish it were legal to sentence them to a 200 mile swim in the Atlantic.

including 220 members of the notorious MS-13.

But wait! After the State of the Union speech Democrats and the press said they'd never heard of MS-13, and now it's notorious.

I don’t have any problem releasing their names. Let them boil in their own juices. Of course the libs would complain if Trump did that.

MSNBC said they never heard of MS-13 so I’m sure they’ll be right on top of this.

It’s the old “as part of an ongoing investigation” reason for not giving out any information, which is probably a good idea when dealing with a national and international criminal organization.

Regarding Long Island, MS-13 is primarily entrenched in Suffolk County, NY.

Suffolk County voted for Trump.

MS-13 has been a problem since the 1980s.
