Overnight Twitter exploded with rage, sending #TwitterLockOut to the top of the trending list. People like Ben Garrison, the famous cartoon artist, are reporting they have lost thousands of followers in an instant and more are dropping out by the minute. It appears that only conservative accounts are included in the follower purge.

Gab TV broadcast the reports they are getting by the thousands of people locked out. Twitter seems to be labeling Trump supporters "Russian bots" and banning them until they provide confidential information most people don't want Twitter to have.
BREAKING: Twitter falsely labels thousands of users as bots, locks them out of their account?? https://t.co/nIzzClqMBU Gab: Free Speech Social Network (@getongab) February 21, 2018
This is not unexpected. We have been reporting on Twitter tomfoolery for quite a while now and have been waiting for the main purge to begin. This looks like the big one. In order to get back into their accounts, Twitter is requiring a phone number to be attached to the account. Gab TV thinks it could be a data grab. At the same time, Twitter is having a scandal at Periscope involving minors being groomed by pedophiles and talked into doing sexual acts online for adults. Critics say Twitter hasn't done much to stop it. The Daily Mail reported on it back in December:
In a video shown to The Sunday Express, a girl aged around seven or eight is seen sitting in her living room, with her mother just metres away, while paedophiles post sexual requests. Speaking to the paper, Shaun Stockdale, 34, from Hull, said he noticed a large number of users clicking onto the video and was disturbed by the comments being posted underneath. 'It became clear pretty soon that these were not children her own age, they were grown men paedophiles exploiting her for their own gratification.
Periscope and Twitter are aware of these issues but it was still going on as of last week when I reported two videos that were brought to my attention showing minor girls being harassed and groomed by sickos. The same thing happened to #MeToo during a live stream and I was unable to block the harasser.
Similarly conservatives stood by and let leftwing politics sweep the tech sector for decades and now expect these giant Bay Area monopolies to treat them fairly.
That word "let".
Well thank you. Rational men can disagree.
BTW, for you... they would have asked $2. ;-) Only insiders were offered the buck.

I think I am suggesting that we find a means to stop them from censoring our side. I don't have any particular ideas about how to do this, but a suggestion I have heard is to designate them a "common carrier" and use government regulation to force them to carry all traffic.
In other words, fine them for censorship.
Force them to serve everyone who sits at their lunch counter.
$2? Damn. Gotta scrape around a little more for that. LOL.
“Our system of government cannot survive one party control of communications.”
That should become the RNC’s new motto. T-shirts, ball caps, bumper stickers...
I asked that on Twitter this AM. I lost followers last night, as did many, however, with Re Tweeting I have recovered the numbers....not sure about the others.
That should become the RNCs new motto. T-shirts, ball caps, bumper stickers...
I think I have been banging on this note since 2006. I can't seem to get the point across about how dire is a situation in which one party controls all communications with the public.
Yes, regaining equal footing in the communications system of the United States ought to be our party's primary concern, because control of communications is how the Democrats have been winning elections. It is how they have been advancing their insane agenda.
Maybe the non-mobile verrsion works better....but really, nowadays there is no excuse for making navigating an app or a website anything but intuitive.
By and large conservatives far more than liberals treat the culture wars as a detached phenomenon. The vast majority limit their politics to voting, the few that go beyond that tend to do so in an explicit and limited fashion. Limbaugh runs a political talk show talking about the Presidential election. A conservative blogger will start a political youtube channel talking about policies. Leftists on the other hand understand, correctly imo, to fight the battle on all fronts. Not only are there more activist liberals their strategy is more diverse. The good lib doesn’t just do outright ‘political’ things, they work their way up in the local school board inserting their ideology every step of the way. They pioneer subtly steering the narrative as a reporter. You can disagree with these methods but you can’t argue with the results or that the right has generally been terrible at countering this approach. The left or its ideology dominates practically every nongovernmental sector of import today from education, entertainment, the media, corporations, unions, cultural, tech/sci, military brass. What institution does the right have, half of the churches, maybe?
“It is a virtual monopoly.”
It is in no way protected from competition so start a rival service to compete with it.
“Should never be” and “is” are two different things. It is being used as a significant means of communications, and we cannot ignore the influence it has on the public.”
Are you saying that since the business model is successful it should be “nationalize” or “regulated” to make it more fair?

I wonder if when they locked people’s accounts it throws them off followers lists...
It would make sense if they are trying to verify conservatives on twitter are not bots....that when thousands of conservative accounts are locked we all lose followers.
“I think I have been banging on this note since 2006.”
I don’t think I’ve seen it in exactly those words. It was at the same time familiar and a revelation, as though a vaguely apprehended fact were suddenly brought into sharp focus.
Or maybe it’s just me.
IF you absolutely need a tool like Twitter, then switch to Gab. It’s designed for privacy and does not censor - yet, anyway. Also preferred by conservatives and libertarian thinkers, more than lefties.
Using Twitter, Facebook, et. al. always results in a snipefest. Nothing has done more to dumb down America than social media. It encourages people to speak absent critical thought, to read unaccompanied by context. It blinds intellect. It deceives them who see darkness, yet define it as light
Information is falsely called knowledge. Knowledge is misapplied as wisdom.
Postmodernism has revealed the ultimate irony: Never has information been more readily available to the human mind, but instead of an era of light, we find sprouting in our midst a new Dark Ages.
Most conservatives just want to live their lives. They don't want to mobilize for "social justice activism" or "change", they just want to be left alone.
Unfortunately, when attackers attack, Defenders are compelled to Defend or be vanquished.
What institution does the right have, half of the churches, maybe?
The Guns. I think many of us put too much emphasis on this point while Liberals surround us with their institutions.
I also think some of this is systemic. If you will note, Cities are where the liberal power is concentrated, and the wealthier are the cities, the more liberal they are.
I've read of numerous examples where wealth and liberalism coincide, and many thinkers on the topic realize there is a relationship between wealth and liberalism.
Some of this institutional crawl towards liberalism was simply baked into the cake of the changing nature of society corresponding to the accumulation of wealth.
Have you ever looked at the Tytler cycle?
I think some of what we are seeing is the consequence of those political cycles which are larger than a normal man can see in his lifetime.
Monopolies are protected from competition by their very nature of being monopolies. How does one squeeze into a market that is controlled by a monopoly without having at least as much wealth as the aforementioned monopoly?
Are you saying that since the business model is successful it should be nationalize or regulated to make it more fair?
I am saying that since it is a business that impacts a critical necessity of our form of government, it should not be allowed to be maintained under the control of a party that is hostile to our form of government.
The ability to control communications in America gives those people who have that control a stranglehold on our means of making decisions. They have effectively stuffed the ballot boxes before the election even begins.
They "stuff" the ballot boxes by manipulating the public, by depriving them of information that the public needs to make rational decisions.
Our system of governance is absolutely dependent upon the public having good information. If you feed them only bad information, they will make bad decisions, such as electing a no accomplishment, mouthy, arrogant, affirmative action idiot.
Here is what Benjamin Franklin said on the subject.
Printers are educated in the Belief, that when Men differ in Opinion, both Sides ought equally to have the Advantage of being heard by the Publick; and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter:
I have been endeavoring to come up with wording capable of doing just that. I am thankful that I may finally have succeeded.
Or maybe its just me.
I think others would see it if they just thought about it for a bit. I think many people do see it, but not enough.
Dare they purge President Trump?
